My Nismo is a DD and I enjoy the quicker ride to work. The only downside is my wife doesn't like to sit in it b/c the Nismo suspension is too stiff, especially with all the crappy roads in LA. If you're on a long stretch of FWY with lots of bump, it can be very annoying after several miles at 80mph. Steep driveways are a bitch, even if you have stock Nismo springs. IMO, the best seat in this car is in the driver seat. Passengers may not enjoy it for longer trips.

I've never gotten above 22 out of a tank. I can get 24 on highway, but as soon as I hit 5 mins of city driving, it drops to 21.

I've been as high as 28 mpg on the turnpike, and low as 6 mpg doing trackdays.

On the freeway it you're really on CC at 75MPH, you should get 26+ let's say a COMFORTABLE 25. On my drive from TX to CA averaging 85 on CC stopping whenever I wanted with a bit of city I did 28.4 miles. I was doing 500 miles between fill ups.

Then again I have an auto which gets better mileage, and for being a traditional slush box auto... it really is THE BEST around. I recommend everyone to try it before they knock it.
Even at 20mpg, that's twice as good as my fast car. Pretty sure the 4.10 gears hurts the mileage on the highway, but they are worth it IMO.

I also DD my Nismo, I take a lot of driveways sideways, and only have to avoid a couple of speed bumps.
Stock I was getting getting 21-28, best ever on a the freeway was 32 on a road trip. I noticed a drop in fuel mileage when I switched to the Swift R springs, a little bit of improvement with a light weight flywheel, I also have a 3rd stage clutch/pressure plate, and have the rev match on all the time, which uses more fuel. So now I average 16-24.
I think my biggest complaint about this car is the road noise, but that also depending on the tires you run. Next thing is how fast I go threw tires on this car. Right now it's been everly 12,000 miles, but I am run pretty soft compounds, 200 tread wear and below, but still.

17 if I baby it but I have a stretch of road that allows me to see triple digits frequently, so it generally gets about 15. I do better dd my gmc 4x4 turbo diesel LOL! The best I have ever got on the Hwy is 27 and most the time it's 23 or 24 mpg.

I DD my nismo and took it on a 1000 mile road trip the 2nd month i owned it. My girlfriend actually prefers the way my car rides over her CRV. (She must like it firm )

That being said, the nismo kinda sucks over interstates that have a lot of road separations, or railroad tracks. I definitely don't come to a complete stop before i hit railroads but i do slow down a little. Still feels like you get punched in the kidney if you go over a bumpy old railroad track.

Disclaimer: Greddy Twin Turbo kit and Fast Intentions TT-TDX (3" exhaust) has been installed for just shy of 2 years now.

I have an 09 NISMO and an 04 Tahoe (maintaining it for someone who is stationed overseas). The Z is my DD, of course. My commute to work/base is about 10-15 mins in traffic. Below I will list the good and bad.

The Bad:
- I see between 12-15 MPG and roughly 230-250 miles per tank if I am only doing stop and go traffic.
- Less than perfect roads make the ride significantly less enjoyable.
- I get a mass of unwanted attention from ricers, muscle (or wanna-be) car drivers, and law enforcement.
- Unless I am on a pretty perfect road, the noise level makes use of my hands-free mic (my bluetooth headset ha better noise cancelling) useless.
- It is very easy to scrape the undertray without using skill that you will quickly learn driving a Z34.
- To "rotate" your tires, they must be dismounted and installed on the other side. That being said, the rear is where this is more necessary than the front because of camber wear.

The Good:

- I see about 25-30 MPG on the highway and roughly 470-500 miles per tank on road trips.
- The Z is very nimble and displays very good manners and predictability.
- Sometimes you get the good type of attention.
- The engine and exhaust performs a symphony when driven in a spirited manner.
- I can carry my duffle bag, ruck sack, full fighting load, and 2 backpacks in the hatch area. Takes a little planning and being good at tetris, lol.
- It's a 2 seater. That means I don't have to cart people around.
- I have a super cheesy grin on my face every time I drive the car. This outweighs all of the undesirables to me!

There are some things that I have not mentioned, but there are some things that you will like, dislike, or just ignore.

How do you guys manage to get more than 20 MPG is beyond me.. I've never seen more than 19 MPG and I drive mostly highway and shift at no more than 4K RPM
Do you guys think that its probably because I have a muffler delete? and would get a CBE (Fast Intentions) help with the mileage?

Its much more enjoyable with lots of dynamatt added to the rear hatch, the kick panels, and the side panels. If you go all out and do the headliner and floor, that will get rid of most road noise. Tires make big difference too for road noise.

It is the slinky effect that trashes your fuel economy. If you can get up to highway speed and stay there, your MPG will be pretty good. Around town, I am lucky to get 15MPG. It doesn't help that the clowns want to drive 50+ in 40 zones and 30-40 in the 55 zones..........
