Nismo Clutch
I had my Nismo for just a month, I notice on hard accelerations with the VDC on some clutch slipping in third gear... Is this normal or is it time to change the clutch? I only happens in third at redline, hard shifting... Thanks!

How many miles on your car?

im kinda confused. so you are in third gear and approaching redline, thats when you feel the clutch slip? if you are already at redline are you saying the rpms then jump past that when it slips?

I just posted something on this today in the track-autocross-drift-dragstrip section.
My stock clutch started slipping at around 15k at anything at 6500 rpms and above. That was with a lot of different drivers, track and autox days. Then I boiled my clutch fluid this summer, but thought the CSC failed, and decided to replace everything. If your looking for a replacement, this is I went this direction, and I'm really happy with it. I'm still on the fence if I should have gone with the aluminum flywheel or if the light weight steel one that I got is better. http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps49c51245.jpg South Bend complete clutch package stage 3 daily and the ZSpeed HD Concentric Replacement CSC 2009-2011 370z clutch kits |
Thanks, my car has 26k. I feel it slipping from 2nd gear to 3rd if the car is at 7,400rpm only with the vdc on. I though it was the VDC working...

Apollo no smell at all.... which is why I wonder... At what RPM do you rev when racing another car? 7,400..... Elan with the VDC off the car goes sideways when I shift hard in 2nd gear with basically new Bridgestone RE-11 tires....... I just getting to know the car since all my previous cars where FWD...

So are you having this slip clutch slip issue when you see this slipping car light come? http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps4c0a99f6.jpg
The VDC coming on is something you could mistake for clutch slipage if you didn't know. I only turn vdc off when I'm racing or hooning. As for race shifting, I usually shift around 6800 rpms. Here is a link to a racing shift point discussion on this site that you might find interesting. http://www.the370z.com/track-autocro...ntresting.html |

This was happening to me and all it was, was low clutch fluid. Added fluid to a bit passed the full line and prenomen was gone. However I had already purchased a clutch kit since I initially thought it was my clutch wearing out.
