i am a fan of both evo and 370z... before i pulled the trigger on the nismo z few months ago.. i was thinking pretty hard on which car to go with.. i am a big fan of sport cars and i know im going to track the car..
the nismo looks a lot better then the evo imho.. for the interior.. its hands down to the z vs the evo even on the quality wise .. i dont really consider 4 door sedans sporty.. awd and rwd is awesome, cant go wrong with either.. performance wise.. evo got a bigger market then the z and can produce power a lot easier and cheaper then the z.. the evo seems to be more of a teenager car the way i see it.. i ended up with the nismo z because its more rare and i love the exterior and interior of it! oh and also i wanted a 6 speed car.. not 5 speed or paddle shift.. ive owned the car for 6 months now and i have no regret at all.. i get tons of compliments and stares on the highway.. if i was you.. i would test drive both and know what goals are u aiming for.. rather its power, pimping, etc.. because the worst thing is rushing through it and having to regret on the purchase.. in the end its your car and as long as you are happy then its all good.. |

Your kidding me, right...power and pimpin are two very good reasons to get a Nismo!

Here are the things that happen to me routinely in the Nismo that never occurred when I was driving the Evo: *People taking pictures/videos of my car while driving *Coming back to my car from gym/store/wherever to find people posing and taking pictures with it *Random strangers complimenting styling/sound; asking questions about the vehicle *Thumbs up from pedestrians/other drivers |

Both are very very good at what they do. You will be happy with either. I lean towards the Nissan on styling alone. My brother chose the EVO for AWD, but we share each others car a lot.

I have driven an EVO 8, 9 and X and the X is far inferior to the older models. Still fun to drive but with the extra 400-500 pounds they added on it and the same HP/torque numbers it had a little too much junk in the trunk.
I would rather have a used EVO 8 or 9 then a new Evo X.... Also these cars are soooo different for many reasons but i was actually like you and thought maybe a new EVO X would be good since its a little more practical but after research on all the reliabilty issues people were having with them as well as how dissapointed i was vs the older Evo's i stuck with Nissan (3rd Z in a row). I am however selling my 2013 Nismo Z and get a 4 door car but i would stay far away from a new EVO.

So my advice is if you sit in a Z and don't feel something stirring then you will wind up in an EVO, WRX, or BRZ (help your soul . Good luck.
