Default STILLEN 370Z Intercooled Supercharger System

Hi Guys,

I'm planning to buy a STILLEN 370Z Intercooled Supercharger System for my 2013 Nismo.

I've been doing some research but I found very little about this kit on a Nismo. By any chance any of you have it or knows of someone who does?

Regards, Nelson

Forced Induction Finished Builds

And between a Nismo and a coupe will not be much difference, minus some extra brackets with the front bumper. There is one in Houston (Nismo plus Stillen SC) running without any issues.

Nelson, why do you want the Stillen kit?

Very tempting DE! GTM's kit looks cool, produce more power and according to specs and blogs, is more fuel efficient.

My only concern is the car's warranty. I will lose it, in the powertrain, after the mod and Stillen's 3years/36months optional warranty for up to $8,000 is kinda cool.

Thanks for the recommendation.

I would go with the 1.5 kit GTM makes, and if your worried about warranty just revert it back to stock before you bring it in.

Does this only cover the Stillen parts, or the car as a whole... if it doesn't cover the car as a whole, Stillen won't cover a transmission part or differential part...

The only reason to buy the Stillen kit is if you live in CA and need a CARB approved kit. Otherwise, it's GTM all day. You shouldn't have any problems as long as you get a good tune. Stillen offers a warranty, but the tune they give you is crap. Does their warranty still apply after you get a good tune?

Are you having the dealership do the install? If not then even with the Stillen they will throw a fit.

Best option, with either Stillen or GTM (or any forced induction) is to get to know your dealer. Find out what they will or won't warranty if you go boost, I was lucky and was able to get almost anything replaced on my car while my warranty still existed until 3 years. There are good and bad dealerships, just have to find the right one.

Thanks for the advice but I spoke with the ex-Service Manager for the Nissan Distributor for the Caribbean, and he said all factory warranty shops will revoke the warranty as soon as they learn I increase HP by forced induction. Is because of a law here in PR to avoid lemon used cars in the market.

His advice was to enjoy the car stock for the time been.

I have two options since I plan to install the supercharger with my brother in law who has a CIVIC SI 2006 Turbo installed by himself: 1) Buy GTM's Supercharger kit and keep record of how to take out all the mods in case I have a situation with the engine or 2) Buy Stillen and the optional warranty.

To be honest, I like the looks and performance of GTM's now better but...

Do you have access to a good tuner down there? I'd make sure you've got someone good down there who can tune the car before you start looking at FI kits.

Yes we do. In fact, my other brother in law has the fastest Honda S2000 in the world right now, is called S2King. This is an old video of the car: S2000 World RECORD - Red Star Motoring S2King, 7.32 @ 192 Mph! - YouTube

I will do the tuning/dyno with his team.

I'm the only newbie in car mods in the family and also the only non Honda in the family so thanks for the help and advice. I'm definitely considering something more entry level to avoid loosing the warranty in the time been.

A good Nissan tuner? Just because someone can tune a Honda doesn't mean they're knowledgeable on other makes.

That's a good point. I didn't think about it. Let me check and again, thanks!

I'd avoid buying other mods until you know for sure if you are or aren't boosting the car later. The vast majority of mods won't be reused if you put on a sc or TT kit, so it's really not worth buying bolt ons unless you decide to keep the car na.

Yea Chuck, I agree with you. This is my plan:

STILLEN 409 Stainless Steel Headers- 14.5HP boost
STILLEN Hi-Flow Catalytic Converters- 10HP boost
INJEN - SP Series Cold Air Intake System- 15HP boost
370Z UpRev Osiris TUNER flash W/ Cipher Cable- at least 20HP boost

I can keep the headers and the HFC at the time of my SC upgrade. I can sell easily the Injen Intakes here in PR. My question would be if I lose my money with the Osiris Tuner. Perhaps I can sell it or the people who will help me tune the car can use this Tuner better than the one that comes with the SC.

I need to figure it out.
