By the way... for anybody curious what it sounds like, here is my Nismo with Berk HFCs and FI CF CBE w/ 12" resonators ONLY. No other mods.

Nismo 370Z w/ Berk HFCs and Fast Intentions Carbon Fiber CBE (12" resonators) - YouTube

Couldn't really get good acceleration due to a lot of traffic, but you'll get the idea.

I still don't necessarily understand the ramifications of a tune w/ respect to warranty, but it sounds like it's voided if they detect a re-flash if there were any drivetrain issues...?

Yea I see. I am not aware of that coz my warranty is out already. You might want to do a little more research on that.

Yes adding a mid will make it sluggish, when you're done with breathing mods, get a tune and you will be amazed at how much power you have on tap now.

a tune will void your warranty if any drivetrain issues arise, even if the tune is good and the tune and aftermarket part didnt cause the issues(IE engine starts consuming oil), the dealer can say its because of the added stress the modifications caused because its running at *insert extra hp you are making here* more then what the car is rated for and they feel that they shouldn't be paying to fix something you broke and you could fight it in court but while you are doing that, your car is down and you wont be able to enjoy it and if you lose, you will still have to fix the car AND pay your attorney fees and possibly theirs as well so you end up losing even more money

its as the saying goes, if you wanna play, you gotta pay

the only time they will honor your warranty is if the modification doesnt contribute to the cause of the problem in any way shape or form(IE if turbo your Z, they still have to fix your steering wheel if the leather rips off from normal wear and tear but they dont have to fix the engine if you blow that up)

in my honest opinion, if you are really worried about warranty, just stay stock until you are out of warranty, the nismo 370z is an awesome street car stock

The sound is amazing , totally transforms the experience. I'm thinking of doing the FI catback exhaust on my 2012 pearl white NISMo only 1 question, will I void my factory warranty, not sure, and what size resonators as well as what would look better on pearl white, carbon fiber mufflers or stainless? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Steering wheel got bent or the leather rips off because of the intense level the driver has everytime the turbo kicks in. So no, they won't fix it.:icon17:

Once you had your turbo kit installed, you say bye-bye to your warranty.

Usually the CBE is fine with the factory warranty unless the dealership want to give you a hard time. The carbon fiber ones are slightly louder then the SS ones. And they are lighter too. Both will look sick on the car. But if you want the stealth look then go for the carbon fiber ones.

You mean drive train warranty.

Like I said in my post, if you modify the ecu or engine, your drive train warranty is out the door but if you are under basic warranty(so interior Is covered), then they cant completely void your warranty because of the modifications unless the modification directly effects the problem(IE if your steering wheel peels or if your glove box stops opening, they have to fix it unless they can prove either you broke it, or your modification caused the problem)

This exhaust on a Nismo just looks sexyyyy!!!!!! I've been debating between two setups....

Resonated HFCs paired with 12" resonated Xpipe
or for the added gains
Resonated TPs paired with 18" resonated Xpipe

If your dealer is a stickler for the rules, this is true. There are also a lot of mod-friendly dealers out there that won't give you crap about being tuned. Ask local guys.

I am also getting ready to pull the trigger on this. I have a 2012 Nismo and just installed the Stillen Gen3, Swifts and 15/20 H&R's.... I talked with Tony (great guy btw) @ FI and he sold me on the long tube headers and TDX pipes (thinking 12" res. will be perfect) He said you should gain back a lot of lower/mid with this setup... If anyone has this PLEASE STEP FORWARD AND BE HEARD.. LOL.

Talk to the guys at Specialty Z too.. The guy knows everything about Z's.. We had a long talk about headers.. After all this is done, you will need to get your car tuned anyway!! Make the call bro!
