Just asking. No need to get all butt hurt. Many guys on here will claim they had nothing to with it but after some pushing the truth came out. At the same time, since it's a factory defect that really sucks. Warranties are there for a reason. You just got the car, that when it was built, they had special ed installing your parts. Good luck and hope that this is the final issue you have. If not, try and file it as a lemon.

That really sucks bro. I hope it's simpler than they make it sound, but be glad you're covered under warranty.

Other than the oil leaking did you notice any other changes in the way the car was handling/running?

I look at it this way; I'm glad this issue happens while it still has the waranty, because if it happens again after the waranty, I think it's still on Nissan. Am I correct on that?

Nope, the warranty for the power train is 5 years, 60k miles, whatever is fixed/replaced is:
EITHER warranted to the end of that time,
OR if the repair was done within the last 12 months and/or 12k miles, THAT SPECIFIC repair carries it's own 12 month or 12k mile warranty

So this repair is covered under the standard 5y/60k, and it doesn't get extended

Default Im starting to worry ...

My GM Nismo has been on order for 5 weeks now. Im supposed to get it in a month. All these weird problems and issues w/2013 Nismo's are starting to worry me. To me, Nissan's have been great. The Nismo will be my 3rd Z car. (had a 300ZX and still have a 350Z). All have been nearly bulletproof. Reading this weekend about 2013s with major leaks, speakers not working, dealers leaving spring spacers in and extended power switches out, and on and on is making me think twice about ordering a 2013 ...

One major leak, (he also had paint chips off his calipers,) yeah, major issue...
But that's the only MAJOR issue... But the dealer is fixing it!

Speaker not working... Meh... The dealer will fix it
Dealers leaving spring spacers in and storage switches in... Meh, just a lazy dealershit with crappy employees... And that's why we have this forum!

Well your's isn't the only 2013 Nismo with a rear main seal leak,I took my clutch out yesterday and saw that it is leaking no big deal I'll just put a new one in but no dealers in Georgia have any.
Also I was informed by my dealer that Nissan changed the seal in production as of 5/12 well guess what my car was made in 5/12.

If I can't get a seal in a week I'll miss Z day's for the 3rd year in a row

That's a bummer

So they changed it for the worse is what you're saying?

Normally, I'd say no, because you'd have to prove, once again, that the part or installation was at fault. Not likely after two or three years of driving. I'd be willing to bet, once the repair is complete, your Z will be fine. Not to make light of your issue, which really shouldn't happen on a new car, from a major manufacturer with great quality control, but these forums seem to draw a lot of attention to "issues"' which in reality are very, very rare. I've seen it on the Corvette and Viper forum, over and over. All these cars, Vettes, Vipers, and Z's, are basically very good, reliable cars.

Enjoy! BTW, are you in FV, Arizona? If so, I'd love to know what dealer you're using, and how the experience went.
