Default OIL Question

This may sound like a noob question but id rather be safe than sorry. I changed the oil on my NISMO and the Manual says to put in 4 7/8 qt if I dont change the filter. So I think I put in 2 or 3 Oz too much (over 4 7/8). So it was closer to 5. Am I good? Or should I drain the 3 Oz. Its just a bitch to take that cover off again. haha. Responses are appreciated. Thanks.

Why aren't you changing the filter?
And why don't you just use the dipstick?

Oh, and why are you taking that cover off???

Nissan takes off the back 4-6 or whatever and just folds the plastic out of the way

Dude rule of thumb every time you change the oil make sure you change the filter!! Now what oil did you put in it? And agree why did you take the cover off??

It only has 1,000 miles on it. I only changed the oil cuz i already had the oil cuz i was about to change the oil on my 2011 Z before I traded it in for the 13 NISMO. So i Just changed it cuz I didnt have the receipt for the oil and the filter is a bitch to get off, its really on there tight. my filter remover keeps slipping. The dipstick says a little bit above full. But I put in less than 5qt. Im just wondering if the 2 or 3oz extra is gonna be a problem or not.

Not really, I wouldn't worry.

During the break in process your car will probably burn more oil anyways...

But I'm sorry, the filter change, especially on SUCH a new car is worth 10 times more than the oil that's in there

Oh OK. I was just worried that the 3 oz would throw it off and mess something up. Yeah I have a new filter that I was gonna put into my 2011 Z before I traded it. But I just cant get this OEM oil filter off this 13 NISMO lol. The equipment I used for my 11 Z keeps slipping off of it. So I just drained the Oil and put the new Royal Purple oil I had in there.

Im going to San Diego.

You're welcome.

You need to invest in a oil filter wrench they are 7.99 at any auto parts store and I think Walmart sells them as we'll, another thing not changing your oil filter when you change your oil is like.... Not wiping you A** after you drop a Duce, just saying. If the oil is not half way up the dip stick you should be good the car will burn it off. And thanks for serving!

Have fun there, enjoy the boob shaped nuclear reactors! (You'll see, LOL)

So Its still bad even though the Car and Filter only have 1,000 miles on it?

And as far as the filter equipment. I have the little plastic cup one that is fit for this filter size. It just wont grip ive tried putting stuff into the cup to create more grip it just wont. And also I have the wrench type filter remover but its the one with the dumb rubber strap that you put on there and torque. I dented the filter on my 2011 before. But is there a certain type you guys use? Cuz I noticed the filter is in the same place as a regular Z but it has more **** around it.

And You are very welcome sir!

The one you have blows, I HAD one of those for my last car

I use the one from harbor freight ($5) that connects to a 3/8" drive socket wrench.
It sometimes doesn't catch, but if it doesn't, you'll just have to hold the 3 teeth a bit...
