just for reference, when i change my oil i let everything drain out on a level surface for a good 30 min while i take a break. then i just add an entire 5 qt jug of mobil1. drive the car a day then check the oil on the stick and its usually right smack dab in the middle. this is wrong its about 70% full on the dip stick. i miss typed yesterday :P
side note... i pour in another 1/2 to 1 full quart at about 2500 miles and ride that till 4k then i change. Last edited by fuct; 03-07-2013 at 09:50 AM. |

And if you're burning up to a quart at 2500 miles... You need to get that checked out

maybe your not draining as much as i am..... i let that puppy sit level, at an angle and flat on the ground. im not saying i get it ALL out but d@mn near all of it. that being said after i fill with 5qts. i get the oil level to about 70% full on the dip stick. not sure why i wrote half. its higher than that..... my bad anyways, im also not burning all that much. when i say i pour in half a bottle to a bottle its just to top it back off close to the H level on the stick. trust me im watching how much im burning....
