Hard to find a Nimso?
Hey guys i am looking at a touring/sports package Z. I can probably afford to go Nismo if i wanted to. But the cloth seats and no nav for a car at that price is kind of ridiculous. BUT every time i see a nismo i think how much better it looks from the exterior from the "normal" Z
I know its limited production car. I would want a NEW White nismo. How long have some of you waited for your Nismo ?Zero chance any local dealerships are going to have one in stock for me at least. thanks for some insight. |
When I was looking for one last year, I couldn't find any in PW in my price range in the area. I ended up finding one in Tennessee and had it shipped to San Antonio where I ended up buying it at.

Get a Nismo. It does look so much better. Just use your phone for Nav/infotainment and the red stitching makes the seat look better than the regular Z cloth seats
|
OP, assuming you are actually in Michigan you might have a hard time finding any Nismo let alone a particular color locally considering it's muscle car country. When I was looking for one a couple years ago there was only one nearby, luckily I like the gun metallic paint so I snagged it up right away.

Called all the dealers in the state to assess inventory of PW, struck the best deal with dealer in Naples (1.5 hours away), drove there the next day to sign & pick up car. Voila.;)
|
you wont miss the seats and the nav can be replaced with something better.
steve hipshin gave me invoice pricing here in texas while she was coming over on the boat..... just sayin side note though... if you are used to american muscle be ready to be dissapointed with the power in the Z. |

I found a white one in WI and I was determined to get white. There was a website I used to get dealers to compete with each other. I paid 38500 for mine. I really wish I remember the website. But there should be at last a few in a hundred mile radius.
Also getting one in summer might be easier. From a monetary perspective, get a cheap base model and put after market parts on it to match the nismo, then have fun with your left over cash. One thing you probably can't buy is the nismo wing though. Lot's of people wish they could buy this :) |

I want a sporty ride that stands out, and can be quick and take a turn. There are very few 370Zs around, and VERY VERY VERY few NISMOs. |

this is why i want the nimso wanna get the best looking Z from factory. |
on a side question, you think it would be crazy to put on snow tires and drive this car in the snow? I will be living in a city and don't NEED to drive everyday. but i worry about body kit being to low and hitting snow and ice.
i know a 370z would handle this better, but nismo worries me. |
In my opinion it depends on what part of the state you're in. If you're over near Grand Rapids/lake effect snow area or northern MI I'd be concerned about plowing snow. Otherwise just be mindful of the conditions and leave it in the garage on those real bad days. There's plenty of guys on here that run snow tires and drive their Z year 'round (I'm not one of them though).

But honestly i am at the point where having a nimso might be worth taking a dam bus when needed. i really want the nimso, taking to dealership tomorrow in fact. |

I ended up purchasing a used SUV for the winter months. It's worth it to use as a grocery getter, dog hauler, and just a car you don't mind beating up a little in general. You won't be hauling many groceries or otherwise in the Nismo; I could pack more in my 350Z roadster than I can in my Nismo coupe. :P |
You like the Nismo look and not planning mods on the car then the Nismo is perfect for you. I got my Nismo for the same reason coz I want to keep the car stock for a while. As for the Nismo in the snow, yes it WILL get scraped by the snow and ice. But so is the regular Z. Nismo is NOT sitting any lower then the regular Z not even the front bumper. It's just the front lip/splitter sits tad lower then the regular z. The 370z in general is not a good winter car.

I don't like to hear this!
might have to rock the non nismo |
Amen to that, brother. I had 500 hp and 500 ft/lb tq in my Hemi. I really do miss the "throw you back in your seat" takeoffs.

Don't settle. You'll regret it.
Get one with a Bose. You can buy a Garmin. As far as leather seats, I thought I'd miss them but I realize I'd be sliding all over the place.
Do what you have to do to get what you really want. Even if you have to have it shipped or even fly out to get it and drive it back. Quote:

Just a update. i have done some heavy thinking and i am pretty sure i am going to have to pass on the Nimso.
Its really not a thing about leather seats or Nav. This car is going to see Michigan roads, rain, dirt roads, snow and salt(with snow tires). The car is going to take a beating. the nismo`s rough suspension and body kit for stuff like that doesn't seem very smart.A lot of you guys live in areas where this is not a problem, but here its different. So i am going to get a fully loaded Z instead.some might say its a waste to spend that much when i can get a nimso, but its really what best for me. thanks for the help guys! |

I live in the Chicago area and wasn't able to find a black nismo near by; I had to get it transferred from a Nissan dealer in Canton, MI LOL

my second car IS a 2011 328i, so it was a nice car. BUT not fun to drive. I am giving my leased bimmer to my mother this month though, and getting a Z in its place. I also pretty much have my camaro sold. So the Z going to be my only car, which is what i truly want. Plus i live in a city where i do not need to drive everyday. |

And to the OP, I think you made the right choice, I think there is more a reason to get a fully loaded Z than a Nismo unless you DIE for that body kit, and yeah the ride is back-breaking compared to a regular or the new Sport suspension! Oh, also, the touring seats are more comfy due to more adjustability with the electric switches AND lumbar support |

Fully Loaded Touring or Nismo as primary car with the Michigan winter is not a good idea Mike. Ll be a matter of time before Z gets it with the Midwest weather (coming from someone who lived in that area as well).

$3700 for the parts without Shipping, Painting, or installation! Bad deal IMO. Then youll need to get the $3600 in wheels, ect. Then you get to tell people its not really a nismo

You must pay to play, if you want to look as good as a Nismo.
I think a Nismo with all that crap in it like nav, fancy seats and all that jazz really defeats the sprit behind what a Nismo really is. They are for sale a few dealerships have or had new ones here in Portland, Willsonville Nissan has a Pearl White 2013 in their showroom as soon as they released. |
I posted earlier on a pw Nismo it's what u said u wanted buy it or get out of here!

my dealership actually found a white nismo in Ohio that they could get for me. idk if a Nismo had the touring options i wouldn't buy one, seeing how overpriced a nimso already is. they were going for about 45k on dealership stickers. |
