i know a 370z would handle this better, but nismo worries me.
I don't have snow tires, but when the pavement started accumulating even frost in my neck of the woods... the Nismo was no longer a viable DD - not worth the risk for a $40k car.

I ended up purchasing a used SUV for the winter months. It's worth it to use as a grocery getter, dog hauler, and just a car you don't mind beating up a little in general. You won't be hauling many groceries or otherwise in the Nismo; I could pack more in my 350Z roadster than I can in my Nismo coupe. :P

You like the Nismo look and not planning mods on the car then the Nismo is perfect for you. I got my Nismo for the same reason coz I want to keep the car stock for a while. As for the Nismo in the snow, yes it WILL get scraped by the snow and ice. But so is the regular Z. Nismo is NOT sitting any lower then the regular Z not even the front bumper. It's just the front lip/splitter sits tad lower then the regular z. The 370z in general is not a good winter car.

Amen to that, brother. I had 500 hp and 500 ft/lb tq in my Hemi. I really do miss the "throw you back in your seat" takeoffs.

Twins or supercharger can cure that problem

Default Don't settle. You'll regret it.

Get one with a Bose. You can buy a Garmin. As far as leather seats, I thought I'd miss them but I realize I'd be sliding all over the place.

Do what you have to do to get what you really want. Even if you have to have it shipped or even fly out to get it and drive it back.

Just a update. i have done some heavy thinking and i am pretty sure i am going to have to pass on the Nimso.

Its really not a thing about leather seats or Nav. This car is going to see Michigan roads, rain, dirt roads, snow and salt(with snow tires). The car is going to take a beating. the nismo`s rough suspension and body kit for stuff like that doesn't seem very smart.A lot of you guys live in areas where this is not a problem, but here its different.

So i am going to get a fully loaded Z instead.some might say its a waste to spend that much when i can get a nimso, but its really what best for me.

thanks for the help guys!

I live in the Chicago area and wasn't able to find a black nismo near by; I had to get it transferred from a Nissan dealer in Canton, MI LOL

A second car is the way to go for the Nismo in the Midwest . Even when I had a regular 370z it sat in the garage on wet days or when the roads were sh*tty.

I have already been through the whole second car thing, and hated it. missed my sports car everyday. not going down that path again.

my second car IS a 2011 328i, so it was a nice car. BUT not fun to drive. I am giving my leased bimmer to my mother this month though, and getting a Z in its place. I also pretty much have my camaro sold. So the Z going to be my only car, which is what i truly want. Plus i live in a city where i do not need to drive everyday.

The leather has Alcantara to keep you glued

And to the OP, I think you made the right choice, I think there is more a reason to get a fully loaded Z than a Nismo unless you DIE for that body kit, and yeah the ride is back-breaking compared to a regular or the new Sport suspension!
Oh, also, the touring seats are more comfy due to more adjustability with the electric switches AND lumbar support

Just to offer a different perspective, i haul groceries and drive in the snow with my Nismo, so it comes down to what your willing to do. Blizzaks on the Nismo make it def driveable, there are pics around the forum of a few nismo owners in the snow. Its not ideal, but its df tolerable if it only snow a few times a year

Fully Loaded Touring or Nismo as primary car with the Michigan winter is not a good idea Mike. Ll be a matter of time before Z gets it with the Midwest weather (coming from someone who lived in that area as well).
