going from Nismo to KW coilovers?
So I absolutely hate the rebound setting Nissan built in to the rear of the Nismo's. I was thinking about going with the KW V1 coilovers.
For those who have made the switch, are the V1's (with their preset rebound/dampening), a huge improvement over the rough Nismo's setup, or should I be looking at the V3's? |

I'm in the process of putting KW V3's on my Nismo right now but probably won't be done till late next week.

yes i run KW V3 coilovers. they are much better than the stock suspension. our nismo's come with linear springs, KW's springs are progressive, so they are much softer initially, but stiffen up very nicely like any other progressive spring

The V3's spring rate is not listed as it is a progressive spring.
Here is a quote from KW's web site in the FAQ section Why doesn’t KW provide a rating on its progressive springs? Progressive springs do not have a “set spring rate”. As a progressive spring compresses, the spring rate increases, unlike a conventional linear spring. This makes it impossible to put a specific rate on the spring because at different points in its travel, the spring rate will be different. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And it is definitely not softer when going around corners.

What is the mandatory drop though? I have been debating long and hard on why to wait or not buy a set and keep the stock suspension. If it is a mandatory 1" drop, I have to pass!
