Unless I'm missing something and you got a Touring with Nav for 27k which is 3k below MSRP for the BASE model. Even if you did only pay that new, you're still comparing what you paid to the sticker price of the Nismo. I could compare what I paid for my Nismo to the sticker price for your car new and come out on top too.

I also fail to see how buying a Nismo prevents you from personalizing the car.

If you don't like the body kit, or the rims, or whatever that's fine. But just because you don't like them doesn't mean they're worth nothing. Don't like the exhaust, sell the stock Nismo exhaust. Don't like the rims, sell the rims and buy new ones. Don't like the suspension, you can sell that too and so on. You could also sell the wing, but I don't know why you'd want to. I just think the market for regular stock parts isn't as good.
It was perfectly explained this way:

Only if you plan on keeping your Nismo stock forever vs other base/sport pkge stock forever Z's would this even have a little merit. Its the SAME ENGINE with a little more free flowing exhaust and a light tune. Its a drivers race man, SORRY... There also plenty of WAAY better exhausts and suspension mods out there than can be had then what the NISMO is equipped with...they are on the same playing field...like it or not... you paid a ton of extra cash for for sup par exhaust, tune, suspension tweaks. Most people who REALLy want to turn the Z into an all out track car dont go for the Nismo, they get a base and build...

You can justify it anyway you want but it's the same no apples to oranges. It's like saying the iPad mini is totally different from the iPad. Same device, one just has a larger screen, same device and everything. You I believe have force induction, so you had to or should have changed out everything except for suspension that you paid extra for...just stating facts...

I can see you need this explained in simpler terms so that you can understand.

Apples to Apples
New Nismo MSRP vs New Nismo Touring MSRP

Apples to Oranges
New Nismo MSRP vs Your USED price that you paid

Apples to Apples
Price actually paid for new Nismo vs Price Actually paid for for new Base/Touring whatever

Apples to Oranges
New Nismo MSRP vs Price actually paid for new base/touring whatever

Do you see a trend here? You have been comparing the NEW MSRP vs what you paid for your USED car. This is not apples to apples. Apples to apples is comparing two items with the same conditions, not comparing two items of varying conditions to come to whatever conclusion you want to support.

Claiming that your'e stating something as a FACT does not in fact make it a fact. It is still your OPINION that you are stating. A fact is undeniable, it simply is. It is a FACT that the MSRP of a 2014 370Z Nismo is $43k. It is your OPINION that it is not worth it.

The fact is, you can also add FI to the Nismo and still keep the stock exhaust if you wanted and change NOTHING else that you paid extra for. THAT is a FACT.

And I've clearly demonstrated how even with modifying it has a TON of merit. And the only thing I paid extra for that I don't have on anymore is the exhaust, sway bars and springs. I already sold the exhaust and will sell the springs and sway bars shortly. So I paid less for those upgrades than you would, which reduces the difference. Honestly, I think I'm ahead on my upgraded parts because I got them for a good price compared to what I sold my Nismo parts for. So if you plan to modify the car, yes buying the Nismo still can make financial sense compared to the base depending on how you do it.

And back to the OP's original question to at least keep the guise of staying on topic. (I know he's long since gone on this resurrected thread) The Nismo just feels ratcheted up a notch to me. I'd love to trade out my steering wheel for the new 14's alcantara wheel. I wonder how much you can get one from the dealership for.

Yeah, comparing a new Nismo to a used sport is pretty silly. A Nismo stickers right around where a touring/sport/nav Z is priced at. The decision comes down to where do you see the value. I wanted the touring and nav. If the Nismo had a touring and nav option, I would have gone that way. If we're going to compare new cars to used cars then we might as well compare the Nismo to a used Z06 or Viper at that point since they're in the same price range.

For a 350hp RWD sports car, Nismos are very reasonably priced IMO. When I purchased my Base with Sport Package, the two Nismos at the lot were only about $2K more. I didn't really care much for the 18 extra hp and aggressive body pieces, nor did the $2K savings sway my decision. I just, as many times in the past, wanted a blue car. Nissan really should start making Blue Nismos.

thats an excellent way to put it. people forget the nismo isnt actually the most expensive Z. The sport/nav is really close, and the sport/nav convert is more. to each his own. for me its exclusivity, you can put as many aftermarket parts as you want on your normal Z and it will never be one of the 500 per year nismo models. Or the probably 20 sold in magma red "discontinued" so as far as numbers go, my 13 mag red nis is more rare than a ferrari 458 italia....... ****, bad example, they made thousands of those....... think of a super rare 2 digit car. I cant.

Maybe more rare color wise, but it's still a 458 and you are driving a 370Z.

I love my Nismo... but I'd still set it on fire if it got me into a 458.

As for super rare 2 digit car... Juke-R, there's what like 6 of them?

Set it on fire to get into a 458 which would then catch fire?

lol, the 458 only catches fire when you drive it. 60% of its owners are so rich they just buy it as a garage weight.

yeah i think they only made 3 juke R's or something.

but even not focusing just on color alone the nismo supposedly has a limited production of 500 per year and im pretty sure they have never made/sold the production limit. no clue, dont even know if thats worldwide, or per region. that being said would you rather cruise around in a vette? when you see 65 of them EVERY SINGLE DAY? or how about a mustank? or a slowmaro? I would take a 458 too...... its a different class of car, but I for one am quite proud of the fact that I see another nismo maybe once every 5-6 months at random. And every time I drive it, drivers of every "better" car cruising around here pratically break their necks to look at it on its way by with the DAMN wtf is that? look on their face. priceless.
