Maybe a resonator delete. Do a search on it. If I were you I would just order the Fast Intentions exhaust. You won't be disappointed.

AAM short tails are a muffler delete and they sound and look awesome. I have them on my Nismo and they are loud but not overly obnoxious IMO. There are a number of videos and reviews, including mine in the exhaust section. Good luck!

Or maybe swap out your stock cats with fast intentions high flow cats or test pipe.

CHEAPEST Route- (without doing the ghetto washer mod)- Test pipes or HFC- $168-600

AAMs sound great, but I do believe I will get getting a new exhaust soon so aams to me are just a temporary exhaust while you save up! I thought they were going to stay on the car forever, but i am getting over the drone on my hill climbs.

thanks to all for the suggestiosn!
I was last night reading all threads regarding exhaust "a LOT of similar threads" & NOW i'm more confussed!
The question it's Berk HFC or FIHFC?? ortest piepes?
tks,

You have to choose one or the other OJ-

You can either get HFC -- tons of companies make em, aam, berk, FI
Or you can get test pipes- resonated or nonresonated- tons of companies have them for various pricing.

Anyways, I am thinking about purchasing a set of resonated test pipes from Megan Racing on ebay for $168.

I will then have 2 sets of resonators. I might even go down to a MIDAS and get 2 more resonators put on my exhaust. Then I will have a completely custom exhaust haha!

tks,

Test pipes will be louder then HFCs and sound raspy. But it gains you more power slightly over HFCs. Another thing keep in mind is both HFC and TP are street illegal. But normally you'd be fine and pass the inspection. I had FI HFCs never had any trouble. They are more expensive then Berk's but you will get what you paid for.

Does the stock Nismo exhaust system look like this? If so . . here is my experience improving the exhaust sound from stock.

I bought this Nismo exhaust from a member of this forum and then added Berk high flow cats. The high flow cats made the exhaust louder with a deeper rumble at idle. From my experience with these mods. (and I know this is not Rocket science engineering) . . . the best changes from stock are changes that create a freer flowing intake system through exhaust system. (1) Stillen Gen. 3 intakes, (2) high flow cats and (3) less restriction in the exhaust made a big difference from stock on my Z.

So your stock Nismo exhaust system might be fine. Just add better intakes and high flow cats. to have a better sounding exhaust. These changes need to be made anyway to improve your performance. If the sound is still not what you want then a new exhaust system is the next step.

HFC's definitely, preferably Berk HFC's or Fast Intentions HFC's.
