Aftermarket H Pipe For Nismo?
Hey guys I've been doing some research and appearantly our Nismos have a different exhaust configuration than the base models. We have an H pipe as opposed to a y pipe. Does anybody know if anyone makes an aftermarket H pipe. I know Amuse makes one but it is $2000!! :o Thanks for your time guys. My Nismo exhaust system is getting a little tune up!
Magnaflow 50 state legal Cats----->aftermarket h pipe----->resonator delete-->Stock Muffler It will sound insane I bet! No one here has done this configuration and I am dying to see what is sounds like and how it feels. |
i would like to know this also... no luck searching.

2K???? Whoa....the yen really went up.
Best of luck. Supposedly F.I. was going to look into this...and I am guessing that that deal dropped off entirely. |
Just talked to Tony at Fast Intentions and he said if there is enough interest, he would look into making one.

Khoi at AAM is working on getting one constructed to attach to the AAM short tails or the factory muffler...
http://www.the370z.com/intake-exhaus...ck-rear-2.html This is the thread that he started regarding the pipe.. |
Thanks for the heads up man!

Doubt it.... I am guessing that he really wants to get gains from a replacement on parts of the exhaust and the cost and quality of the part will make it worth it for him.
Maybe a little new to the scene....but we all can forgive him. I am just teasing you johncy. ;) |

I was kind of serious about it because I thought it was my only option. But with the help of you guys I have come to the conclusion that shelling out 2000 for a piece of piping is not reasonable at all and that other company are considering making this piece. Only time will tell.

or spend less and get a new full exhaust....

ALERT! Sunline Racing makes an aftermarket H pipe for the Nismo as well as the Base. Goes for $700!! I'm buying it if AAM has no plans of moving forward with their H pipe.
|
$700?!
You can buy a used catback for that price.. seems a little steep for an h pipe |

Just a FYI...there is a reason on why I am looking for another H pipe. I have the Sunline H pipe and the flanges are offset...as in not straight. |
Wait to the stock midpipe doesn't exactly bolt up to the Sunline H Pipe?
|
no the flange that connects the H pipe to the bottom of the TP's are welded at an angle. Like someone just welded it and before it cooled put it on the ground and it cooled at an angle.

too bad it doesnt have integrated flex pipes http://www.sunlineracingusa.com/imag..._NISMO_300.jpg |

to be honest...most after market systems dont have the flex pipes in there...for the most part, it should be okay. I dont recall if even the stock one had flex sections...meh...old age. If the flange was straight....I would probably singing another tune. Maybe I just got a bad one since supposedly Sunline is supposed to be a pretty decent company. Maybe they called a fire drill when the person just finished making the one that I got. :p |
Silly question... But why an H-pipe? X-pipes, in theory, and in other applications, make more power.

why does the factory one have sheet metal wrapped around it and clamped at the ends? is it to keep heat in the pipes? sound?
