roof spoiler

Just curios if anyone has a roof spoiler installed. I'd like to see how it flows with the Nismo wing.

technically it doesn't flow with the wing....

EDIT:

I installed a small rooftop spoiler or diffuser as they might call. got it on ebay for less than $100 and it was very simple to install with 3M double sided tape

I dont have the Nismo wing but the sport package and the spoiler looks good with it. It is posted in my album.

What would a roof spoiler do like the photo shown above?

Mess up the airflow to the wing and basically turn it into a big trunk handle.

That's what I thought lol.

Technically, if your diffusing the air higher up on the body...the lower trunk spoiler becomes less effective?

Yes!!! The 370 has a very sloped rear hatch section. Which help reduce turbulence coming off the back of the car. So adding any type of roof spolier or vortex generator will have an adverse effect on the aero properties at the rear of the car. Thus creating more drag with less downforce. As it will de-laminate the airflow from the roof and rear hatch. Of which already has a stagnintation area at the lower hatch area in front of the rear spoiler on the Nismo version.

What happens when you stand under an umbrella in the rain? You don't get wet.

Same principle with a roof spoiler. The roof spoiler is going to redirect the airflow and the trunk spoiler is not going to get much, if any, air. Hence it can't do its job.

Thats whats called Looks over Function

Lol yeah I added it for looks the Nismo wing really does not come into play under 75mph and I don't track my car so there is no need for the rear wing to push the back of the car down when I'm in stop and go traffic. Now if I go to the track then it will be takin off for the day. But none the less I like the profile it adds.
Love everyone's 2cents
CHEERS! Lol
