Questions about FI bolt-ons

I know this might be a little off topic, but based on what I've read the thread already has gone a little astray.. This might sound crazy and stupid, but

This might sound crazy and stupid, but I ask out of ignorance.

Is there a way to get more torque at the lower rpms? For those DDs out there...

A V6 will never have the low-end torque of a V8, that's all there is to it. A lot of the breathing mods and tuning will raise torque all across the curve, but only a little at the bottom. Supercharger?

As mentioned, this thread is already drifting... but I'm OP, so that's ok, right?

Question about tuning: It definitely voids your warranty, right?

What about CBEs / HFCs / CAIs?

I'm curious what (if anything) I can get away with while maintaining my warranty.

Anyhow, that could be a reason to do a few light mods w/o tuning if the answer to the second question is "no".

Tuning and breathing mods definitely won't break your warranty. Some (many?) dealerships are shady, and some would give you a runaround about it, but they'll lose if you stick to your guns, assuming the mod didn't actually cause the problem you're claiming under warranty.

Even if something catastrophic did happen (which was unrelated to your mods), you could reflash the ECU and/or remove a mod or two if you wanted less dealership hassle. Better idea is to develop a good relationship with a good dealership, have them do some of your install work to boot.

Yeah, like others have said, it really depending on the dealer. As far as tuning, just flash your ECU back to stock before you take it in. You really don't don't want them working on it with a tuned ECU anyway.

For the most part, you can get away with CBEs, intakes and HFCs. There's actually nothing from Nissan that says any of these things inherently void the warranty. Dealers might sometimes give you crap about it but you can always go to another dealer.

I do not agree. 10 = Meistershaft GTS CBE! FI CBE = 8.

I had both so I know. :P
