Default NISMO brake upgrade

I was wondering if y'all would kindly give me some options for upgrading the brakes on my 2012 NISMO? Sorry if this is a repost thread, but I searched multiple ways with no luck.

Thanks in advance,

PS... Sorry for "break" instead of "brake". Sometimes the old fingers just get ahead of themselves.

Does your 370Z suffer badly from brake fade?

Instead of being grammar Nazis, a little help on the brake question would be great. Brands/sizes for example.

Thanks in advance,

Come on guys, give him a break

but to answer your question, your post was a bit vague. Not sure exactly what you mean by "upgrade". Do you want new rotors, new pads, or a full on big brake kit?

Here is what I am planning to get when it's time to replace my brakes. Not really sure there are many more upgrades you can do short of a big brake kit.

EBC USR Ultimax Sport Brake Upgrade Pads Rotors SS lines fluid

You could also spend some extra money and get 2-piece front rotors, but I don't think anyone makes them for the rears

@Babbage, thanks for the input.

@Mike, trying to help cut down the heat from spirited driving. Possibly going to track it here and there.

Thanks again,

Racing Brake makes 2 piece rotors for the rears. I just bought them, front and rear. Pretty pricey, but really nice upgrade.

Like everyone is saying, its hard to answer your question OP with such little info provided. You can upgrade the pads, SS lines, upgrade the rotors, upgrade the fluid, or just go with a BBK. Its just depends on how much you are willing to spend and what your overall goal is.

Heat is caused by friction from the braking, no matter what you run for brakes the heat generated will be basically the same (for the same amount of braking). Swapping rotors doesn't get rid of any more heat, although you can manage the heat better by either adding mass (larger rotors) or in more extreme cases using 2-piece rotors to allow for better thermal expansion.

If heat alone is the primary issue then try to add some brake ducts for cooling. The stock calipers aren't horrible, they just need better pads that can handle the heat. Beyond that most track oriented brake setups start at $5K (rotors and calipers).

do you currently have the sport brakes or base? If base you could upgrade to sport. 9n/m, you said nismo, so you have the sports obviously)

In either case, if you are worried about temps in spirited driving, upgrade the fluid, go with carbotech XP8 pads and install the stillen brake cooling ducts.

I was thinking about ordering the NISMO RC brake ducts. I really like the way they look on the nose. Thanks for the help and ideas.
