the report made it sound disappointing, but i LOVE the NISMO body kit better than the stock kit.
what the report seems to not have done was drive it around a track (sounds like it only went on a dragstrip), which is where it should shine vs. the stock 370z. |

I was looking for more, but then again I thought the Sport Package was a joke. I understand the value for a manual but with an auto the price should have been cut in half. $3,000 for a spoiler and brakes? I can add the spoiler for under $500 and the brakes for around $1,200.

Syncro-rev is only for manual, not autos. Hence why I said for Autos it should have been less. So yes I forgot limited slip, I still don't se $3,000 for an auto. |

Not sure if it does with the paddle shifters with it still in "D"... But I can absolutely verify that it blips the throttle when downshifting. It screws with my braking if I'm on the brakes and downshift - the blip is quick and takes a bit of braking away, then the engine braking kicks in as well as the brakes...and you slow down at a much faster rate than you'd expect. The result makes one look a bit amatuer ![]() But, if you need to accellerate, and mash the throttle, the automatic is a bit slow to figure out what you're up to, and the car kind of winds itself up and leaps (think of a cat about to pounce...) - if you bump the shifter down a gear (or two ![]() ![]() I've managed to break the rear end loose doing this, bumping it from 4th to 3rd where the RPM's end up at about 4-5K, and gassin' it...sure enough, little warning light told me so - lol! the sports package adds forged 19 wheels, bbk, lsd, and the spoilers. I think 3k is a good deal.

Akebono and brembo run the same quality. Brembo goes for 2799 on the 14inch front gt brakes! The whole set is 4200. With the right connections. It'll cost u 3k. Even the cheaper stop tech brakes run around 2500 for 14inch brake kit. The Rays engineering rim and tire package is official. At worst its worth 1500 by comparable aftermarket quality. And cuz I know the brake lines rotors and pads aren't as high quality as an aftermarket brake system. Ill say 2000 on the brakes. That's 3500 right there. Now add spoiler chin spoiler and SRM. To be nice ill say 500 bucks. Though I believe the SRM technology is cutting edge and breakthrough and is probably worth 900 by itself. I will package it and say 500 bucks. U still save a grand. But in reality this sport package would be worth near 6k if u did it yourself with comparable tech. 60-0 in 103ft for $1200. Lol I musta been gettin ripped off all these years. |

Actually, automatic has SRM if you purchase with the sport package.
For the price I think the sport package is well worth it. The Nismo model has some great additions also, but I think Nissan might have fallen a little short. Yes they left off the oil cooler, but I think an upgraded LSD would have been better for the price you pay. Sport package: ~SRM - price unknown (probably minimal) ~BBK - 2,000+ ~19" Ray wheels - Price I cannot estimate ~Better tires ~LSD ~Rear/Front spoilers - Nissan charges 600USD

I think we may be expecting a bit much from the Nismo.
I wouldn't expect the updated suspension to be reflected in skidpad numbers. C&D did get a staggering .99g on the skidpad, but the suspension changes will be more directly effect turn-in, transient response and body control. With that said, I would a expect a slight some improvement in slalom numbers. Tires will have a large effect, but advan sports are very much on par with RE050As IMO. Brakes are the same and tire size does not increase much, so I wouldn't expect changes here. Not sure how downforce would effect braking in this scenario. Should the car be much faster? I think it should be a bit faster even if the car is a little green. If numbers don't improve after being fully broken in, we could conclude that the nismo exhaust and tune just don't make much more power, or perhaps the power is all made up top with little improvement in the overall power curve. I thought that an increase in weight and added drag would effect straight line numbers. However others have said the cars weigh roughly the same. All in all, I'd expect the improvements on the Nismo to be felt at speed and on the track. |
