Starting up.......help
Hey guys I recently purchased my 2012 nismo about a month ago, and I been having a start up problem with the car. At sometimes when I push the start bottom to start it, it goes click, click, click, click, click, click, and then it starts like if it has a trouble starting, but the good thing is that it start the first time. And sometimes it starts up fine like a normal start up. My only consern is that it takes a while to start up, it only happens sometimes and and it starts up at the first try. Am just wondering if any of you guys have or have had this problem. Thanks.

Are you holding the button? With your foot on the clutch just hit the button once
|
I would suggest to have the Battery tested.

Few weeks ago, I had this situation when I push the start button my car also goes click click ....... but it still won't start up then I tried few times later then it completely no response at all and YES the battery is dead lol...
Sometimes having difficulties on starting up the car is a symptoms of the battery deadline is near. But not sure on your situation cos your car is still new. Just hope everything is fine. |

This is just my personal opinion because I hate others driving my car and chances are the you won't be able to replicate the problem in which case the dealer will just put you on your way. I would remove the battery myself, very easy to do, and take it to Checkers or Cragen or Pep Boys and have them check the battery. If it's dead at least you know what the issue is and you can just walk the battery in for a new one. Install yourself at home. Then again, thats just me.

I have read that in the fuse box there is a battery saver switch or something for when the car sits without use. I just got mine last month and there was a sticker or something that said this. Might not be the case, but maybe someone knows more. Im new to this car also.

Your battery will be fully covered because it's less then a year old. Nissan prorates their batteries according to age. Nissans oem batteries are pretty crappy though. Never gotten more then a few years out of them in any of my previous vehicles, including this Z.

Take this for what its worth... When the first signs of the car hesitating to start due to a low battery, take it in immeadiately. The starting process repeatedly done will hurt the starter and then eventually that will have to be replaced too. Just my :twocents:

Took the car to the dealership this weekend and they did a load test, and everything came out fine. But the day before I went to the dealership I got some recording of what the start up of the car sound like, but they said they couldnt do anything, and I think they said that becuase they said the car wasn't doing it when they did the load test.
Another thing that I notice is that on a cold start the car starts up fine, and when I go somewhere and park it and let's say am at the store and 1 or 2 hour go by. When I go back to my car and start it up it's when it has a hard time starting. |

This is the same issue I'm having with my brand new Z. She only has 3K on her. All of done to the car is install the GTR ignition button and installed new radio/speakers. Its kinda ridiculous! If anyone could help with this issue, it would be great. My dealer is over an hour away, so I would like to try to fix this on my own. |
mine will want to stall if i drive it in the heat then stop and get back in real quick.
she doesnt like to start hot or right after you turn her off. :/ |
