If you are referring to my video in my signature well then yes possibly that could get you in trouble but this isn't the setup I'm suggesting. In the video I have FI LTH and FI exhaust. Resonators removed and HFC will be much quieter than this.
I am talking about the video. I am curious to hear how removing the Resonators sound. Does it effect your HP?

It will have no effect on horsepower only the volume of the exhaust. It's an easy process. Cut out the resonators, weld up straight pipe to replace them. If you don't like it, cut out the straight pipe and re-weld the resonators back in. You can't lose. I think a local muffler shop charge me $20 to do it.

What about passing smog? Or effect warranty?

Having the resonators removed (red circles) and having straight pipes welded in will do nothing regarding emissions. There is no impact on your warranty either.

Changing the cats (yellow circles) to HFC should not have an impact on passing emissions. Warranty, the dealer has to prove changing these parts caused the problem to deny your warranty claim.

Changing the cats to test pipes (yellow circles) WILL have an impact on passing emissions. Same deal here as above, the dealer has to prove changing these specific parts caused a problem to deny your warranty claim.

I always keep the stock parts so you can revert back to stock.

thank you both for your help.. I will give it a try. I also heard just adding cold air intake will help a bit as well? Or am I wrong?

Adding a CAI will give you a bump in HP as well as change the tone of the engine at higher RPMS but still won't be overly intrusive in-cabin. Surprisingly CAIs on the 370z don't increase the noise a whole lot, where in every other car that I've ever owned and installed a CAI it has made a drastic increase in intake noise. A CAI also will have no effect on warranty unless the dealer can prove the issue was caused due to the install of the CAI. Again just hold on to stock parts and re-install if the time comes.

Update: installed FI test pipes for power gains and to make the exhaust note a little more audible. Did not get HFC's to eliminate all restriction, and didn't even get resonators to get the most weight saving and clearance. Should have ordered with resonators.

It definitely got louder at cold start-up and driving, but hardly noticeable at idle. However, there is a NASTY rasp when revving up or down through the 2500-3500 range. When accelerating hard, I can hear the rasp up to about 5000 rpm. IMO it sounds like sh!t and don't recommend it. Even as an engineer I can't figure out where the rasp comes from, and it's amazing that it can get through an otherwise stock Nismo exhaust.
Power gain is defintely noticeable, perhaps 15+ hp. CEL popped up after 200 miles.
For an installation note, get a good 14mm bolt head extractor before doing any work. You WILL need it. Snap the demon bolts before doing anything else.

Long tube headers will be installed in the future.

I have the Berk HFC's and I really do hate the rasp. Half tempted to just put the stock cats back on.

The rasp just sounds bad. Turning heads as I am driving at low speeds in first gear is nothing something I want heads to be turned for.

I do not consider my Meisterschaft exhaust to be raspy, but the exhaust & car itself turns heads. I can care-a-less which one turns heads first. Pirus exhaust is pretty quick from what I understand....jk
