That's a simple decision. The US economy and gas prices are going to be lousy for years. If you've absolutely got it made, keep buying newer, faster, more awesome cars until you're too old to drive. Then get a tricked out Hoveround.

56k for a camaro? That's just too much money I think for a camaro. Great car though. Better check on the insurance before you buy one though. Rates for the ZL1 and the Shelby could be pretty high as the ads proclaim huge hp and that's going to raise rates. In the 60's the factories under rated the hp numbers so a policy could be written. If you go test drive one let us know. I think the price should be 50k at max for that and the Shelby. 56k price point leaves lots of great choices in cars.

It's a cool car and insanely powerful, but I still prefer how the Z looks over the camero. I highly doubt you'll find one at that price since dealers love jacking up prices on stuff like this. If more speed is what you're after, might as well invest in twin turbos and likely match the ZL1's numbers or at least come very close.

Same with the Boss stang..jacked up prices and no test drives. I just passed an orange one today and it looked nice but I'm happy to be in my Nismo. I'm betting the ZL1 will be jacked up in price too. Thats free market though. It's what we fight for.

Quality all day long over power, im sorry but American cars just dont last and their resale is horrific. Ive only ever owned 2 american cars and one was a junk bucket that always had one or two things wrong with it! Save your money and stick with what you have now, its cheaper and sexier looking. If you really need that power, do like these guys suggest and put turbos on it. Just sayin

if you are going for over 500 hp then I recommend you bump up to the Caddy CTS-V coupe. Much better interior and comfort with all the same performance as the ZL1 (except launch control)

+1, the power would be fun but the cars interior and exterior has always left a lot to be desired IMO, I've never been impressed by either.
