They are made of .063" thick Aluminum, Lightweight and strong, MUCH stronger than the plastic crap.

Part #75895 is useless. Mine was dragging on the ground while driving as well. Bought new push pins,glued the crap out of it and still comes loose from airflow. Clearly for me, thats a poorly engineered part to cover up a mistake when they molded our Nismos under tray. I say mistake because why create an air pocket for a part thats designed for aerodynamics? All it does is allow air to flow into that molded space and finally rip part #75895 off. Why not make it straight? Whats up with the bubble? Can anyone elaborate why nissan didn't this? Correct me if I'm wrong for example.
Looking at a Gt-Rs under carriage you won't find plastic pieces to patch up its oil drain cover. I know its not a gtr but still, why us Nismo owners gotta be treated like the step child? Were family! For me, I eventually gave up on putting that plastic piece back on again and again. I also have my under tray zip tied from the air damage. Lol So Joe@zspeed. Great job on your project brother. Make 1 extra... cause I want 1 to. |

sweet..now to save some money. however..how come the nismo version is so expensive? nearly double the price of the normal Z. just because nissan gouges us ALOT more for the nismo, why are you guys charging us so much? its not THAT much more metal

Everything with the word NISMO is going to cost more.
Given the R&D involved on the part of ZSpeed and the fact that there is a lot LESS opportunity to sell the NISMO versus the regular 370, I think the price is reasonable. Plus it is a better and cheaper alternative to the OEM piece. Limited Market = Higher Market Price Supply and Demand Relationship |

can we hear what R&D actually went into this part? did you drive with it on at least? how about any impacts? when plastic rips off the bottom of your car it dosnt do much damage. but if this part failed aluminum can get dangerous at high speeds.
im not saying its a bad product, just need to justify the price. also how much more does it weigh than the factory plastic piece? meaning are the black plastic clips enough to hold up the addition weight? Last edited by fuct; 04-02-2012 at 04:57 PM. |

Another member on here with a factory Nismo we wanted to use for test fitting to make sure it fit the same has had it for the last few weeks and had it installed down at Z1 motorsports. I'm sure he will chime in if he reads this. I have had our original 370Z piece on my car for months, we have had them on 350Z's/G35's/300zx's for years now tested on the track at very high speeds and have saved more than one oil pan and likely engine in the process from track debris. If you ram a curb with it obviously you will probably damage it but it is for Aero, not a battering ram. If it gets damaged, you should fix it before it comes off. We've used what we have learned on other shields to make this the best we could, Could we have done it cheaper? Probably, but I don't cut corners or use cheap materials to save a few bucks. Hopefully this will help answer some of your questions.

Without a doubt the part is well designed from where we sit. Not taking anything away from its development. Im far from being a person with short arms and long pockets.
Fuct does make a point about the R&D. Knowing that the Nismos front end does sit lower and most of us arent stock height, on impact will the part hold up? Our oem plastic piece is expensive but did withstand impact pretty good. Minus the rectangle piece. lol I dont think weight matters to me much. the heavier the gauge the better. Titanium would be nice. |

This is the new 370Z V2 shield that has less mounting points than the Nismo. I am holding onto it between the mounting points in the weakest part of the shield.
I am not 150lbs either Maybe I'll start doing my pull ups in the garage.....
