Anyone else daily driving their Nismo?

I have not even had it for a week yet and I already feel guilty driving it every day. Currently it only has a tad over 4k miles on it, so I was thinking maybe I could save up and by a decent daily driver within the next year or so before the odometer gets too high.

Anybody dd'ing the nismo right now?

Lazy 09-22-2011 08:51 PM

I dd mine, 14k miles first year. I basicly drove my z almost everyday, i didnt even bother driving my old car that i was suppose to use for dd

SugoiNismo 09-22-2011 09:28 PM

Haha I have a few extra cars to drive but ever since I bought my nismo I cant stop driving it. So yeah its pretty much my daily driver now

370ZNISMO#704 09-22-2011 09:42 PM

Me to I hate not driving it the feel the sound all the looks. Lol
But I'm hitting a yr this month and I'm right under 13k but its all good there ment to be drove.. right..

FL 4Motion 09-22-2011 11:37 PM

semi DD, rotate btwn it and our suv, over 13K so far and it's a bit over a year old.

Shamu 09-22-2011 11:50 PM

Why wouldn't you daily drive a low cost entry level sports car like a Nismo? Not like it's a Porsche GT3 or a Lamborghini ?

I'd dd a porsche gt3 (maybe not a lambo, cause I'd never get one) too! cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed, otherwise, just buy a nice picture of a car to hang on the wall in your garage, much cheaper and easier.

hazzazi 09-23-2011 12:02 AM

i used to daily drive mine when i first got it too, i now have about 40k on it :D...

Blackcrimzon 09-23-2011 04:52 AM

I DD mine. I have had mine since 2009 and I have 20000 miles on it. I bought the car to drive it after all. Right now I am having work done on it and I miss driving it like crazy. When I deploy over seas the thing I miss most about home is my damn Nismo lol, it might sound crazy but its true. I also have a motorcycle that I drive to work sometimes when I dont feel like dealing with traffic and the price of gas. So dont feel guilty for driving her everyday. Feel guilty when you dont drive her :)

ScGRaceR 09-23-2011 09:30 AM

dd almost but i live 10 miles from work... so for long dirty things we have a 7 seater truck

fuct 09-23-2011 09:33 AM

i DD mine. hell i have 25kmiles and i bought it July 1st 2010. most miles ive ever put on a vehicle in such a short time. love every mile too!

Nikkolai 09-23-2011 10:42 AM

I'm currently daily driving mine since my Civic was stolen.

nismonster 09-23-2011 12:53 PM

I dd mine...don't feel bad...I put 5k miles on it in the first 2 months I owned it...yeah trying to slow down on the mileage now, but it is very hard to resist the urge to drive it! However, being a Nissan it gives me a lot more comfort knowing it was built to be driven

torpedo2k 09-23-2011 12:58 PM

2-3 days a week. Its a blast. Sometimes it goes a week w/o being driven. I feel guilty and start worrying about tire flat spots. How long does that take anyway?

pokeyl 09-23-2011 10:14 PM

Buy it to drive it, 14K in 9 months.

roplusbee 09-23-2011 11:13 PM

DD for the win. I got 27K in just over a year. Now that I am deployed, I miss her /sigh.

fuct 09-24-2011 10:55 AM

i dont feel so bad about my miles now:tup:

JDMFairlady21 09-24-2011 11:52 AM

i daily drove mine too. till the engine got pulled! LoL

NismoKeith 09-24-2011 01:08 PM

I daily mine! I've though about buying another car to DD, but then I though to myself I'd never drive the other car because I love driving the Nismo every day. On days I don't have anything to do or anywhere to go, after about five or six hours of looking at the car I can't take it and usually get in her and do a little desert run to get my daily Nismo fix in.

MrJdmNismo 09-24-2011 02:03 PM

just hit 11k on my 2011

I have been deployed 6 months and I'm still at 14K, 10 total months owned. Yes that is correct, 4 months and 10K, my son put the other 4K on it for me.

dstauft 09-27-2011 12:16 PM

4,200 miles in the first 5 weeks, 'nuff said!

dmatt 09-27-2011 09:11 PM

Its Sooo fun to drive, why not drive it everywhere you can :tiphat:

whoLEEoh 09-27-2011 09:45 PM

I would love too but I am forced to drive the highlander when ever there is snow or heavy rain.

antfd3s 09-29-2011 07:53 AM

Just fliped to 20k on mine. Starting to feel the tranny more then when I first got it w15miles. This car never was a smooth shifter either. Also im hearing a whining noise from the rear I never heard before. The more I drive the Nismo the more it hurts my feelings.
DD? Not so much for me. Its feels more like a conversation piece.

change the fluids in both. i know what you mean about the tranny getting notchy-er... :\ at 27k miles last night i replaced the tranny fluid with the factory nissan tranny fluid and it feels about how it did when new. which was...... decent.

Copy that. I went ahead and threw royal purple in both after break-in. Made shifting less notchy . I was pleased. Im gonna do it again thanks.
It was funny as I was leaving the dealership complaining bout this trans when I first got it. A fellow Z driver whispered to me,"try the Rp,it'll help. " I whispered back,"really? why we whispering?" Lol. Said" they told me it voids the warranty " no sheet.

fuct 09-29-2011 02:43 PM

yea one of the guys at the parts dept. said the additives and what not can fug up the trannys. and thats its best to stick to the factory stuff in case they wana be a b1tch about warranty issues. im not even getting a short shifter until the 50k mile powertrain is up. :\

NismoZ370 09-29-2011 10:55 PM

I DD mine got it with 4k last september and its at 11k but i drive my bike alot as well. its a though choice when the sun is out in washington its a miracle hard not to take the bike.

I had da same problem I took a trip to Miami and back to Orlando in 2 1/2hrs and started hearing da the noise from the back... At 1st the dealer gave me a new transmition this was when I had 9k miles... now I have 11k when I got it back from the dealer I heard it again after 2weeks they found the problem it was my ""differential"" now it's all good... :)

_ace_ 10-01-2011 06:12 PM

Mine is a great DD. I don't feel bad about it at all.

antfd3s 10-02-2011 08:04 AM

Changed the fluids over the weekend. Everything seems fine. Shifting is less notchy no whining noise from the rear. I noticed my car likes its oil checked between oil changes. Im usually a 1/4 qt low. There's no sign of leakage or anything. Anyone else adding oil?
Drove to ny w the Z and Dd here..is a nightmare. I DONT understand how anyone can drive anything nice without being paranoid. I went to parallel park and almost got the front end clipped by a woman who decided to pass. Good thing I stopped. Now she's looking at me like I have the problem.wtf..(That's just 1time I avoided getting hit ) Every single street has uneven pavement and the majority of the drivers are butt sniffers. 370z vs city streets equals fail.

Nikkolai 10-03-2011 09:17 AM

I just picked up a Nissan frontier. I hate the roads here as well and very steep inclines. Now I can keep z nice and clean again and take it out when I want to.

theBroodwich 10-03-2011 04:37 PM

To and from work 5 days a week or more. Love to baby it but it's meant to be driven.

Nismo63 10-06-2011 03:27 PM

I drive mine every day until I save up and get a beater!

Nikkolai 10-06-2011 05:45 PM

I understand the car is meant to be driven but my definition of "driven" seems to be different from others. "Driven" and commute, to me, are different things.

_ace_ 01-02-2012 07:09 PM

I use it for the commute except when there's snow or ice on the ground. So almost a DD.

We have an old Honda Element I drive on the days when the Z's summer tires aren't safe. It was my wife's DD forever, and it still has a purple skirted hula girl on the dash. :icon08:

Tickwomp 01-02-2012 07:25 PM

Will continue to DD mine until I get my FF5 Cobra done.

Rusty 01-02-2012 07:58 PM

My Nismo is my mid-life crises toy. Something that I can play with. :driving: For my DD. I got a Jeep GC. For pulling the camper and off-roading. I got a Dodge Power Wagon. Plus 2 motorcycles. Restoring one, and putting a supercharger on a Honda VFR.
