Sorry that I havent been able to update this in a while. Just wanted to let everyone know of how the situation was handled. It turns out that a small pin that held the fitting in place was either missing or came out and because of that it resulted in one of the lines to come off. From what I understand the smoke I was seeing was due to oil getting on the manifold.

Big thanks to Z1 for sending me out a new fitting very quickly, I was able to have the car returned to me right before the Flat Out Motorsports event at Roebling Road last weekend! It was very hot out there, I would say the air temps were around 98, oil temps never got above 230!!

Excellent! I am glad to hear you were able to make it to the track. I know of a few others who went to that event as well. Did you see a Blue G37 at the event along with MIKE in the THEPOWDERCOATER.com Blacked out 370Z?

As I mentioned before, this type of failure was extremely odd. As with anything else in life...anything is possible. Those pins are pressed in and what allows for the swivel function of the fitting itself. We have inspected and verified all current lines on the shelf for both the 300zx, 350Z and 370Z oil cooler kits.

Any thoughts on coming up for the Nationals and doing that track event?

Yes both the blue G37 and the black 370 were there. Me and the G were in the same run group, pretty even match up.

I also got to take a ride along with the black z, he was in a different run group from me, he is an amazing driver, I think he was pushing low 1:20's in that thing!

As for Nationals I would like to attend but my works schedule for that week looks pretty full, I doubt I will be able make it

damn, wish I had seen this thread a few hours ago. I just finished installing mine... would have checked the couplers.

Oh well, a test drive, road trip and track day in the next 2 weeks should prove it out.

Sorry to hear about the issue - even with an occasional glitch this is still a superior product imo and Z1 has excellent customer service!

Back from the dead but is this really a Nismo oil cooler kit?

370Z Nismo Oil Cooler Kit

False alarm, the part number is the same as the Nissan Motorsports kit. But now I am not sure where they got that picture from.

The buyers should be aware that the Nissan Motorsports Oil Cooler kits (as shown in the FB Nissan images) DO NOT come with the fiberglass ducts as that picture shows. The kit shown is definitly wrong, the kit they have shown is actually for the R32 Skylines. See attached link:

I emailed them about it so I hope they do clear up to prevent future misunderstandings. I did see this kit but I am not sure how many rows it has and if it is sufficient for occasional track use. I like the setup because it does not require the Nismo damper to be flipped.
