I recently bought a 2011 Nismo. I started with the Capital One Buyer Network page: Capital One Auto Buying - New Car Prices, Used Cars, Price Quotes

Within an hour I had four dealers offering to sell to me: 2 @ $500 below invoice, 1 @ $1000 below invoice and 1 @ $1500 below invoice. Ended up at $38,400.

Supply in CA seems limited now. Most dealers don't have any.

Even though this is a auto lender website, you don't need to get a loan (I didn't). The price was the same whether I used Capital One or didn't get a loan.

Alternatively, you may want to call 3 dealers, tell them the exact car you want and that you are ready to buy today. Tell them whoever offers you the lowest price by xx time gets the deal. I did that with the last car I bought and it worked quite well. Dealers were in a frenzy.

Take care to tell them precisely what price (car only, car + fees etc.) you want to see so everyone is offering on the same exact thing. I asked for a fax of the price page before I went in to the dealer so there wouldn't be any little "misunderstandings".

would you guys think $40,200 Out the door price sounds unreasonable? thats my final price... I am bringing a check to the dealer I already got the financing done. The one dealer near me doesnt seem to want to help me at that price. Maybe I am pushing too much.
Any thoughts?

Imo, I truly think you can get your Z at a better pricing and save yourself several thousand $$. I know this may not be relevant to the discussion but I'll throw it out there anyways: at $40200 assuming an interest rate of 5% and loan period of 72 months (bad) that's $686/month just for the car and the car ends up costing you $49000. As stated earlier, low-ball the dealer you are dealing with (shave $5000 to start with), if he doesn't want the pricing proposed, moved on to another one - you have the money, you set the conditions for the dealer to earn it. The money saved up could go towards mods ;)

The problem I am having with this is that there are no other white ones anywhere else... there are reds, blacks, and like one silver. so I think my best bet is to hang for a couple of weeks till the end of the month and see if the dealer still has the car and are willing to negotiate.

Don't worry broski, your car is out there somewhere waiting for your butt to imprint the seats :p If you show patience and restraint, I am sure you'll get a white one at the right price and enjoy it even more. It is easy enough buying the car in a wimp but it is better getting it at a reasonable pricing. I don't know about you but I rather put the saved up "muneeey" from the deal towards mods rather than give it to the dealership and be screwed during services ;) Right now is prime season for these cars, so expand your search area and you'll be bound to find one as you please and don't settle for a lesser choice since you know exactly what you want.

Now before I leave, something to make you drool over till you get your white Nismo :stirthepot:

Just kidding... but thanks for the kind words sir. I will be patient and wait for the right car/deal. After I test drove the car last sunday I knew for sure I wanted to drive this car. It felt amazing. I just gotta be patient.
