Another Oil Cooler "NISMO"
Just finished the install,
http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...ttsa-pics.html Made brackets to hold the cooler 1/2 in front fo the damper. Ran the lines were power steering lines run so no cutting. 25 Row Cooler. Will try to post some useful pics this weekend. Total cost under $300 and 4 hours to install. Most of that was making the mounts.

Please post as much pictures as you can because I am about to buy the parts and install the oil cooler via Modshack way. Open track days are coming up soon. I did not want to cut either and I thought about routing the lines next to the power steering cooler. No one else seemed to have done it that way so I am curious.
BTW, was it possible to mount just like Modshack did but flip the damper bar 180 degrees? Last edited by Nikkolai; 06-04-2011 at 11:25 AM. |

Next I made two 3"x1"x.25" brackets and bolted them to the plastic frame of the car. Last I placed two .5" spacers between the barackets and the cooler. It ends up as a 3 point mount and very strong, 1/2" clearance from the damper. As to the lines I attached the aft bolts of the belly-pan and held the lines in the PS line channel as I closed it up. You need to put some type of anti_chaff material on the hose. I am going put some clamps on it tomorrow. That way when I go the get the oil change I won't fall out. The first hose I cut too long (4 inches) but it has oil on it now and I'll fix it at the next change. Note: when you push the hose into the fitting USE LUBE and DON"T STOP! I am deploying in 8 days so if I don't get the pics tomorrow I could be a long time before I do. I did use all the modshack listed parts but with the 25 row cooler.

If you pass the lines along next to the power steering lines there is no need to make holes. You can tie-wrap the lines to each other to prevent rub. Leave the lines a couple of inches long on the oil filter end as the engine does torque a little when it is revved.
