Picked up 2010 NISMO, have some very loud rattling coming from rear

Make sure this is centered perfectly on both sides. Not half on like i noticed b4 i super glued it. I noticed from the factory it WASNT centered. Let me know if this helps. My grommets are there and centered. Pressing on my trunk it seems that most of the play I have is on the back portion near the latch and not the sides where these grommets are. I still think my problem is the latch; just don't know how to adjust it

I have a 2010 and I don't see those grommets. I have a rattle but it sounds like something loose inside the plastic of the hatch. I know this because when I lift it, I hit it around and I can hear it.

Thoughts?

Interesting. I thought it was my Wicked CAS box fumbling around. I will have to take it out and take a drive to see if I have this rattle that you speak of. Thanks for the update............

the wires and lever mechanism is rattling around inside the hatch. take off the plastic portion on the hatch and dynamat in the inside. there is a thread about it somewhere. this is not a nismo only issue.

I pushed down on the hatch as someone recommended and there is lil play. I dont have those grommets its a plastic wedge on the hatch that goes into hole. Maybe putting a grommet in there will help?!

I tried getting the plastic off last night but had a hard time. Any recommendations for prying that thing off. I took off the 2 10mm bolts but it was hard to unclip. I can hear a clip of some sorts in there.

As mentioned in a different post, I had rattling as well and moving the latch down as far as it can go seemed to have resolved it for me.

Hi Werkz. I have the same problem with my latch but I'm unfamiliar on how to access it. Would you be kind enough to give me a detailed instruction on how to remove the plastic cover where the trunk light is so I can access the latch and move it down. It would be greatly appreciated. Thx.

just put two pennies in the little spots on each side of the latch, where the black bump stops come down, problem solved...
