Do NOT buy a NISMO

If you:

• dont like attention
• are out of points on your drivers license
• dont like answering questions from non-car-people
• are an intravert
• dont like to be stared at
• dont like higher insurance premiums

The list goes on and on. Yes, I say most of these things in jest but people still crack me up. I don't have a personality that craves or enjoys being the center of attention but this car makes it happen more often than I have ever had with all of my previous cars combined. I've never had a car generate so many looks and questions from complete strangers. Some of them are real zingers. Here are a few of my favorite:

-When walking in to a restaurant a family of four are in front of us. As we wait to talk to the hostess the lady in front of us leans over and whispers to me “I like your car...”. I hadnt even seen them in the parking lot.

-When leaving the restaurant a man approaches as I open the door and says with excitement “Is that the new Porsche!”.

-While waiting in the car at the grocery store for my wife an older gentleman approaches, stops, stares, then walks over to the window. He says “Is it as much fun as it looks?” I reply “Yes, it is a lot of fun.” He continues “I know what you mean I used to own a Mitsubishi Eclipse...”:ugh:

So, what are your interesting moments from complete strangers? (yes, regarding your car)

Hey, i used to own a turbo eclipse hahaha. and like the poster above, i was about to say, "jeez, another one of these threads..." Just got my car in July and its in the garage until April probably and was too anal to park it anywhere in public. So with that said, i dont have any stories for you yet, maybe next season...

The man by the AT&T truck asked me if it was a GTR and how fast I went. I didn't know I had a pic of him till a week ago.

the first day i drove mine to work, a guy whom i had never met before came to me and said "nice GTR!" :D

I guess I don't mind the attention so much. It can be annoying but, so far I've mostly had people who know what they are talking about come up to me about the car. Which is very cool. The most annoying question I get is, "What's a NISMO?"

I had a guy pull up to me, rolled down his window...he says "Hey bro....thats one sweet ride". I wasn't sure if he was making a pass at me at first but then he started talking about the Z, me and my butt relaxed.

Another guy doing landscaping unloading fertilizer from his truck decided he would chat me up about it too. Turned out he too was no slouch on the Z either.
Guy on a street bike...was kinda keeping pace with me on the freeway, eyeing the car up and down, changing lanes so he could get some good looks at it from all angles...pulls up one last time along the passenger side, gives me a an "A OK" hand sign and takes off.

A friend of mine thought it was a Porsche at first too. Can't say I blame him, people see the rear and automatically think it's a Porsche.

the part about higher insurance premium, is that correct?
i don't think i am paying higher insurance premium for my nismo.
the record from the insurance company only says 370z
and the premium they charge for the nismo is lower than the 6 year old mercedes that i traded in.

i only heard the story about a rich chinese guy who bought a $15k fiat 500 and then added $651k worth of gold and diamonds to it.

i bought a nismo, and then some guy traded his 3 daughters to me as sex toys, along with a tiger, 3 houses in the greek isles, and 100 million dollars. i used some of the money to buy a touring/sport

I went to buy a Nismo but the sales guy told me I wasn't cool enough so I had to by the normal 370z :(

haha. i thought that was the lexus policy for their new supercar.

i went into the dealership and i was like 'what's the slowest version of the 370z?' and they showed me, and it was right then that i knew i had to have a nismo :stirthepot:

Hey, similar thing happened to me. I bought a nismo as a present for these twin girls I know, in hopes of winning over their hearts and the key to a threesome with me. Last I heard, their dad decided to sell the car online and we never had a threesome :(

I looked at getting the Nismo but the dealer said I was far too cool for it. Sent me to Infiniti where i got me G37S. The have a 10" test for that if ya know what I am saying.

i've done a lot of things for a klondike bar that shall not be repeated :mad:

i think the biggest difference behind the wheel is that when you look in the rear view mirror, you notice that the rear wing covers up half of the view :driving:

I am sure the 370s are the same across the board. It is higher than my last car though.

I'm pretty sure you're correct, torpedo, although calculating insurance varies from place to place. If somewhere an insurance company can use that as an excuse to milk you for more money, you know they will. :icon17:
