Does nismo 370z come with different engine?
Today at the Jim Ellis Mazda, a service rep argued with me that 370z nismo has different engine from regular 370z(sport & none sport). I told him that there is no difference from the two engines and he insisted on 370z nismo have to use synthid oil. Am I wrong or he was just being a DB:bowrofl:
|
no difference at all, just diff tune on the ECU....ahahahahahhahathose service guys really need to get screened
|
There was no win with him, i just laughed off. Clearly he was living in his own world:icon18:
|
Why argue with a Mazda service rep about this anyway?
|
you should have played into it, got all paul walker on him, and started saying random codes for made up parts...thats what i always do lots of LOLing
|
Reminds me of a 'vette owner I was talking to who swore the LS1 in his C5 was different than the one in my WS6. Almost as bad as the Z28 owner who tried to convince me their car was special because it came with a corvette engine.
Some people just cannot be swayed. Ignore. |
What a joke. You should of said your right, the Nismo has a rotory motor. HA!
|
The Nismo has a different exhaust (h-pipe) & ecu tune. Other than that, the powertrain is completely the same as a standard Z. The cost upgrades are the result of the suspension, body and other Nismo add-on's.

does he think mazadah makes the 370Z's?
|
Yes! It has a different engine... cover. :)

o____O
Can't believe this is even a thread... |

Reminds me when I went to the Honda dealership asking about the S2000 right when they came out. The salesman told me it had 13:1 compression and the redline was set to 9000rpm for "legal" reasons.

Yes, they under-rated the engine in the F-bodies. However, he was saying his intake had larger runners. Even after popping my hood and showing him the exact same LS6 intake, he stuck to his story, pointing at his and saying "See, they are larger!". He was so convinced that he was seeing things. |

hell, maybe it was a 98, I really can't remember, but I do remember hot rod magazine and the like dyno testing them (the LS's). After so many cars, things blur a little.
Regardless, that one was my wife's car and she doesn't like modding, so it didn't matter which it had. We only keep them for a year or so anyways normally. Finally starting to slow down though, had my 350 for 3 and a half years, the vette for 4 and now the 370 for a year and a half, but I'm getting itchy. When does the C7 come out? 2012 or 2013? |

try talking to service managers and ask for the owner of the store as well.
even when i take my nissan in the service guys arent great. I go directly to the manager now. Heck onetime my dad took in the versa to get a new tire mounted (someone ran a red light and pushed him into a curb and the tire actually ripped open) and the service guy tried to tell my dad that if he didnt get a "oil conditioner" that the warranty would be voided... yeah.. they are generally morons. I say generally cus of course I think Kevin works at the service side of an Audi Dealer! :-D |
