Slicks are 100% part of the bolt on rules. Others also use & tried using slicks with not good results.
Let's put into the mix that I had STOCK intakes & base stock Nissan exhaust, minus cats.

All are welcome to use any tires they want. Get slicks, please.

Tell you a little secret. First day I used my slicks, I was so unhappy that I drove around the track trying to sell them. It took me over 9 months to learn how to use them.

Oh, I know. I'm just pointing out that it's hard to compare times on street tires vs. slicks.

On the other site they have guys with slicks. Some have quicker times, others slower. Many tried & they weren't for them, mostly cause times got worse not better. These are 6 cyl. N/A cars. Slicks aren't for everyone. I started with slicks only after I got into the 12.7's/12.8's...

A set of slicks cost $400 to $500 per set. Why do 370z owners spend many thousands on mods to go quick/fast and not get slicks? I suspect that in N/A class the 370's don't do well with slicks. More h.p. but maybe less tq.?????

Because the vast majority of Z owners aren't into drag racing. Slicks are only good at the track, while you can enjoy power on every on-ramp.

Also, your cost fails to include the pair of rear wheels you need for the slicks.

Why are you again derailing a thread and moving the discussion to track ?

This is NOT a track thread, and I would like it to stay that way.

IF you can't stay on topic? You're posting status here will change to moderated.

I can't stress this enough IF you want to discuss track setups and what not?

Do it in the Track Section where it belongs.
