Default Is your Nismo shifting harsh???

I seriously dont like to flame my own car but the trans isnt a smooth shifter. At first i thought there was something wrong with the clutch/trans. So i let the dealers mechanics have it for the day. They said there wasnt anything wrong with it. I was in dis belief. I didnt except there 10 mile inspection at first. They told me to take a base moldel 370 for a drive. It shifted the same way but not as bad. After that test drive with the base model 370 i was sorta convinced that its just how these cars are. My 350 didnt shift gears like a truck howcome the 370 feels like this? Should i go get a second opinion on my car? What do you guys think?
Also i talked to a mechanic that used to work for Nissan about my situation and he said, they use the Frontier trans in the Zs???I dont know if thats true.. I just ended up getting used to it. I tryed using Royal Purple Synchromax it made it shift a little better but not by much. Any advice would be appreciated. ty

Most guys are going to tell you Nissan has kind of rough shifters. Its not bad just not as smooth as most other cars. I dont feel anything wrong with the way my Z shifts or any of my previous Nissan vehicles, but I also never drove an S2K which is said to have one of the best shifting trannys around.

mine shifts fine, just like every other manual trans cars i have ever had. of course, it still has low mileage so maybe later on it may shift harsh like yours.

My first to second gear shift is rough, meaning it takes a little more effort to shift to second, but everything else is ok. The nismo does not like to be shifted fast.

I use to have a S2k, and by a long shot, it is the best shifting tranny I have ever had, even better than the miata I once owned.

Thats exacting how mine is. It shifts slightly better when it gets warmed up to. When it isnt warmed up i always take my time. Im sure it has something to do with it having a centerforce clutch.
Mazdas do shift very smoothly. My Rx7s shifted like butter all the time. I never had been in a S2k. I always wanted to drive one of those.

i shift super slow when the car isnt warmed up..everything feels so clunky until a couple of miles of driving, and even when its warmed up its not the smoothest. i believe the "problem" is the synchro-rev feature since it gives it a little throttle when you upshift. im still learning to drive it smoother everyday and im already 3k miles in!

Oh yea, the synchro rev...ima turn that off just to see how she shifts then. Wow 3k,,,just around breaking point. Im at 10k, and pretty much mastered how this car rolls.

Coming from an S2000 as well, it shifts like butter in comparison.
However, if it's cold, it's a little "slow". I have to rev match to ensure no mis shifts.

Take some time and feel where she likes to be shifted at and when

I turned the Synchro rev off and noticed it shifted more smoothly then with it on. Especially from 1st thru 3rd.
