Question about OEM Nismo Exhaust?
hey nismos. I got the OEM Nismo exhaust on my car, and was wondering if there are any aftermarket options to replace the H-Pipe, I love how the exhaust looks on my car, that's why I don't want to get a full aftermarket exhaust system.
Anyone know, or can chime in? |
none as of yet besides the Amuse Pipe which is $$$$ and fitment hasnt been confirmed on the stock exhaust..

from all the searches on previous threads, people replaced the muffler section, I actually like how the tips look, and just want to add a little to the sound.... i replacing the muffler section, the only route I can go?
|
yeah for now unless you custom weld a H-pipe.

I'm on the same boat as you, don't want to change my muffler but kinda want to change everything else. So far I have found that SunLine Racing offers purchasing Nismo specific exhausts components individually. Costs mad $$$ tho!

damn.... thanks for the help guys.
I was searching all night yesterday, and reading through countless threads. Started looking at test pipes, art pipes... then realized it won't be a big difference coming from my HFCs. Then I started thinking about the fact that if I open the exhaust up even more, i'll most likely just intensify my rasp from the Berks. One more question, how big are the nismo tips? is it 4.5''? |
i think its 5
and what other exhaust mods do you have? |

Just Berk HFCs at the moment. The thing is i'm ALMOST happy with the way it sounds, just needs a little bit more. |
I went with FI CBE on my nismo only for the simple fact that I had it on my 09 touring sport before it was totaled. One thing I noticed was that the section of the FI exhaust that goes in place of the H-pipe may actually bolt on to the rest of the Nismo exhaust. I'm not positive as I didn't try this during my install but it's something to consider. I would contact Tony over at FI and ask his advice. If anything, he might be willing to fab something up for Nismo owners. I mean the the parts I'm talking about are just two individual S bent pipes that feed from the cats to the center portion of the exhaust. The S bend would still be the same, it would only be the flange that would need possible tinkering and perhaps length slightly adjusted.
Just something to consider. Again, I would call Tony and speak with him. He's super nice and very helpful regarding his products. Another thing to consider is that the H-pipe is only 2.25 inch and restrictive in flow vs. the fast intentions set up. I doubt sound will change much but you should pick up a few hp. Keep in mind the Nismo exhaust is only good for about 7-8hp over stock will FI or Stillen is good for about 15-18 over stock. A lot of that is the muffler design but part of it is also the smaller H-pipe the Nismo uses. |
Thinking of getting the akrapovic slip-on muffler only section. Should fit the nismo H-pipe's fine correct?

One thing with the Akra is that it's not as majorly loud, so you might end up disappointed.
I bought the whole Evo system - sounds lovely, not rediculously loud, just right for me but I imagine some would think it's a little quite. |
