UPDATE!!
Just talked to the guys at FI. From what they told me is the Nismo Exhaust is not built to take that much air. The Test Pipes or even the HFC are allowing more airflow through the Nismo exhaust and it will create that sound. He said once I get their exhaust installed it will eliminate the sound. They said i will still have a small hiss from letting off the gas but it wont be the Rasp that we hear now. Just thought you all wanted to know. |

Installed the STillen g3 intakes and Berk HFC on the Nis this weekend. What a big difference over stock, love the sound and the car comes alive at 4k rpms. More so then before. Unfortunately I Do have the Rasp :( But I mostly here it when powering thru first and then can't really hear it thru the other gears.
Hopefully it will go away in time or I might have to upgrade the CBE. But I like the sound, hopefully the rasp will go away. |
The Berk HFC steel is rather thin. Some have complained of a metallic noise.

I installed the FI CBE after the Berk HFCs, and the rasp is gone. All there is now is the hiss which I have grown to like.

Sure am glad to hear the FI CBE takes care of the rasp! My Berk HFC should be here in a couple days but the exhaust wont be here for 3 more months.......and I'm just not patient enough to wait 3 months to see that HFC sitting around my garage. If it's here...it must be installed...I think I can handle a little rasp for 3 months.

I found this sound clip and thought of this thread. I'm currently very satisfied with the way my exhaust sounds except for the slight tinny rasp at 2500 to 3500 rpm.
