on new member. Just purchased a 2009 new black nismo having it shipped in the next few weeks I'm soo excited as a previous zxr owner back in the day. As Pacino said in the Godfather, "just when i thought i was out.... they pulled me back in" |

Here's my individual take on the Nismo:
- Styling is wonderful. One of the most beautiful Zs ever produced. - Radio sucks. two speakers complimented by two tweeters with no speakers in the back of the car. Good luck running down the interstate and hearing your stereo. - View out of your rear view mirror is hopeless. The spoiler blocks a lot and you'll rely on your side view mirrors more than expected. - Performance is, hands down, much better than the 350z. This car has much more mid range power than the 350. - Cabin noise is terrible. There is no insulation on the metal, so road noise is a major factor. Tons of highway driving will wear on you after a while. It's not really a factor around town. - Suspension is stiff and will beat you up if you have rough roads. Road trips in this thing will take a toll on your back. The touring model of the 370 fares much better in this department. The flip side to this is it handles very well but see my warning below. - Be prepared to have people gawk at you, yell "Love the car" at highway speeds, point fingers and give you thumbs up, ask you 500 questions at gas stations, etc. I always received attention with my 350, but I never expected the amount I get in the Nismo. I suspect that as they become more common, this will calm down in the coming year or so. A piece of wisdom: Don't take traction control off until you're used to the car... you wont like the result!!! Enjoy your ride when you get it... pics are necessary!!! |

Thanks guys! I had a 2005 vette the car was insane with out the traction control .. just getting on a exit u would lose the tale.. the best handling car i ever owned was a 2004 mini s i sunk a load of cash in it for mods but man it was fun.. i would take it up to lime rock ct and play speed racer! The mini was just too small and the vette always broke down...

Welcome
My my, Dpeters was very negative.
Agreed, best looking Z ever. This car turns heads like no other, and owning a NISMO puts you in a very exclusive crowd--not very many on the road so it turns heads big-time. I'm amazed at the newbs that ask if it's a Skyline. The car rides rough because of the stiff body and racing suspension. I personally love feeling every nook and cranny in the road while I am doing 50mph over the speed limit. It handles like a dream as a result. It's a RACE CAR, if you want comfort buy an Altima. Power is above-average for a performance car. Not all that special off the line but very good mid-range acceleration. It goes from 80-130 like a shot. It has a MANUAL tranny only. I love that fact above all other and I'm sick that any Z comes with an automatic transmission. Reference my Altima statement earlier for my views on that. Enjoy your rocket |

For the record, I like a stiff ride too.... just not on a long road trip. Last edited by Dpeters; 11-16-2010 at 01:09 PM. |
