Does anyone know the Nismo wheel well dimensions?

I am thinking about using the Yokohama Neova AD08 295/30/19’s for replacements of my rear tires. I am wearing out the Advan Sports fast. Anyone know what the wheel well dimensions are for the car? By my crude measuring it looks like they should fit fine. The AD08 is 1.4” wider than the current Advan Sport as far as tread width is concerned. The overall width of the inflated ties is only 0.6” between the two.

I think they should work fine but I am not a tire/rim expert. Maybe one of you out there is.

Let me know what you think.

Also, the AD08 comes in a 245/40/19's so I don’t have any issues with the font tire replacements. ;)

front: 19x9.5 40mm offset

rear: 19x10.5 23mm offset

If you're going wider, I'd shoot for what stormcrow ran on his nismo with stock wheels which was 265/35/19 front and 305/30/19 rears. Seems like those tires match up well with the stock dimensions.

Edit: the 295's will fit fine, but if you increase the rear widths w/o correspondingly increasing the fronts to match, you could increase the amount of understeer you'll experience. then again, the diff btwn at 285 and a 295 isn't much at all though.

I am running the AD-08s, 255 front and 295 rear, no problems at all, and at the one autocross I did on them at ZCON, they felt like a true R-compound. I bought them for street use and wet weather track tires.

Thanks Mike. I appreciate it.

Unfortunately in the AD08 – the largest 19” tire they make is the 295/30/19.

well that's a bummer, esp since they're a really good tire. bridgestone RE-11's come in the bigger sizes if you ever want to go even wider, they're a really good tire too, that's what we're going to switch too when the OEM's wear out on the Nismo.

that may be true, but the 305 RE-11s have a tread width of 11.1" and the 295 AD-08s have a tread width of 11.5", and the AD-08s are a 180 degree heat cycle tire.

Mike,

I agree with your conclusions and I pretty much got my questions answered about running bigger tires in the Nismo without any rubbing or handling issues. Sounds like 11.1” or 11.5” or even a little more won’t be an issue. I guess at the end of the day it now comes down to what tire is better when tracking the car. That is a can of worms I don’t think I want to open. I try to track my car for 2 days every 3-4 weeks and since I can’t afford a spare set of Hoosiers and rims the good news is that it sounds like I can’t go wrong with either tire manufacture or the sizes I am looking at.

Decisions, decisions, decisions. :driving:

well definitely then, I recommend the Yokohama Neova AD-08 in 295/255. That is what I run for the street and intended to use for wet track days. I switched to them today when it was wet for the first session at Road Atlanta and wound up running them all day. As luck would have it, it cleared up and was dry all day. They performed almost as well as my all out track tires, never coming near the limit of adhesion and I pushed them fairly hard. They were designed as a true dual purpose tires and the Yoko rep told me they can handle 180 degree heat cycles all day. I am so impressed after running them all day, that I might ditch the track wheels and tires altogether.
