Oil Cooler Kits for NISMO?
Ok, was looking into this and noticed this disclaimer on the Stillen website:
NOTE: Oil Cooler Kit cannot be mounted on a 350Z with a long and low aftermarket cold air intake system due to interference issues. These kits will not fit Nismo 370Z models. WTH? Do we have an option here? I'm guessing that fancy pneumatic stabilizer we have in the front is right where the oil cooler would mount. Has anyone tracked a NISMO and do we have the overheating problems as other Z's? Alternatives, bigger oil sump for more oil? |

Do a search and you'll find a number of NISMO owners that have fitted oil coolers. Vipor has a DIY on one.

Most kits will fit, although some require removing the damper.
Here's my DIY: DIY: Oil Cooler Installation on a Nismo (Damper Included!) - vipor

I've been promising to post pictures of my setup but I've never had the time to take off my front bumper to do so.
Here's your alternatives: - Mount something smaller than a 19-row and don't worry about the stabilizer bar. - Mount a 19-row or larger and flip the stabilizer bar and use something to prevent it from rubbing (see Vipor's DIY) - Mount anything you want and remove the stabilizer bar. I have another alternative but like I said I've been too busy to take off my front bumper. |
