Twin turbo kit for the Nismo Z34.
Hey guys what's up. I'm new to the forums and just had a few questions about this TT kit I found. I was wondering how reliable it is or if there was a better one you would recommend. Will this kit bolt onto the nismo 370z or is it just for the standard 370z?
Another thing that bothers me about this kit is that it claims to have the potential of 500+ hp. Is that to the wheels? Also, can the trainy handle that much power and can the tires hold that much power? Sorry about all the questions. I would rather be sage than sorry though. The VQ37VHR is good to about 500hp. Some are over (GTM) and possibly pushing things, but others are right at or just below. That would be to the wheels.
Talking about transmissions... Nissan is notorious for having very strong trannies. You have to go all out to have to worry about anything beyond a clutch and some cooling. |
That is the GTM kit, they are sponsors on this forum, contact Sam@GTM for info.
It should be fine on a Nismo, the coupe & the Nismo use the same engine so what one can do the other can. The 370z should be fine for around 450-500, but you will need to consider supporting mods such as oil cooler, brake upgrade (pads/fluids/etc.). |

Everything, EVERYTHING, that fits on a non-Nismo will also fit on a Nismo. Might just need a little extra finagling.
The only thing that's a little squirly is ECU Mods, but that's soon to be taken care of. |

One of these days (maybe soon :excited:) I'll get a G3 and do an in-depth DIY.

Has anyone got any actual proof that these engines can only handle ~500whp? Has anyone actualy pushed the engine until something went wrong. I just hate how someone says something and then everyone goes with that quote to heart. For example...i use to own a cobalt and everyone said it was only safe to use a 50-75 shot on the 2.0L ecotec engines...there is a guy that has a spare engine built up so he is trying to blow his stock engine up. He has ran 20+ bottles of a 125shot without reducing timing at all and nothing has gone wrong...and people say the engine is only good to 300whp...hes making around 350whp with the nitrous and nothing has gone wrong. |
I think the 500 number is based on what the past 350z has done on a stock block & everything. Good solid kit, not going crazy on boost, and proper support people were fine at 475-500, I think it comes an issue down the line though in wear & tear but that is natural with any engine putting more power into it.

There are at least a few Z34s and G37s rolling around with 500whp or so |

Not sure what they r rated to, however, I seen a thread that someone is running 13psi on stock internals i believe, so in theory, upgraded internals would allow you to run higher psi. Although something else could go wrong. Next year when i come back from afghanistan, ill be getting Stage 1 TT and running 10psi until i upgrade the engine internals, or 5psi with a 75 -100shot
