Call me a poser...
Bought a 11' sport knowing the suspension would be changed, exhaust, etc.. Overtime the lines of the Nismo had me and my conversion started. Found the last piece I've been looking for today. Never will claim it's a true Nismo but the death of one became a donor to mine...

Too bad they stopped putting those plaques in the ‘15+ Nismos. I would’ve loved one in mine.

I found one for a 14' but have been looking for one from a 11' for quite a while, had seen one a few months ago, contacted the guy about buying it and never heard from him again. Found an ad this morning and went for it...

POSER!!
I was just following the thread rules My actual opinion is the individually numbered plaques look slick, and I think it's pretty cool that in a small way you are keeping alive the spirit of that fallen Nismo

No offence to any nismo owners btw, at the end of the day you choose what to do with your money but if we are truly talking about a squeezing the most performance out of your car then the nismo isnt even in the game. There are much better and cheaper alternatives for aftermarket parts out there then what the nismo gives you Then you got people saying the whole nismo status and such like oh "rarity", "not many out there", "you'll stand out" etc... that makes no sense to me when theres something like the 40th Anniversary around which has more bragging rights as a limited and rare car over a nismo, hell even based on numbers of cars produced alone by a HUGEE margin. The nismo idea in itself is a good idea, just horribly executed by nissan. In reality, no matter how you crunch numbers or try to justify it... The bodykit on the new nismos is great tho i'll give it that but its all its got going for it imo. Last edited by Asus_; 02-26-2018 at 07:56 PM. |

Struggle all ya want, there were 2 Nismo's on the lot when I bought the sport priced at 5-7k more than what I paid for mine. I was looking at doing an Amuse kit but didn't want to deal with fitment issues and the fact it's fiberglass so did the Nismo instead. Just kinda snowballed from there.

One day I hope to meet a '09-'14 Nismo owner who is going to a body kit and will unload/swap all the bits with me... my favorite body style for the Z but the price tag for the conversion is just too much for me to swallow. One day.

I see it as stealing someone else's plaque off a trophy with the same name and put it on your own. No offense, I just feel it's illegitimate and would rather order something more authentic than ripped off. Maybe research your actual vehicle color and options and do one of XXX based off that. It's not my car, so you do you, it's just something I wouldn't do.
