Question Recaro seat-back won't hold position?

Has anyone else run into an issue with the Recaro seats where practically every time you get in, you have to turn that triangular knob to adjust the seat-back so it's not leaning back a little too far?

Mine seems to do that to me all the time, and it's starting to get a bit annoying. It's not that I notice the seat-back starting to lean back while I'm actually sitting in the car -- but the next time I get in, it's always tilted back further than I'd like it and I have to give the knob about a quarter-turn.

Default Nah... I think it's a "thing" after all...

I went to a Nissan dealer today for a wheel alignment and oil change, and asked the service tech if he ever heard of the issue with the Recaros needing the seat back adjusted regularly.

He said he owned a Nismo himself and his Recaro seat does the exact same thing. He actually laughed a bit, saying I'm the first one he's ever had mention it but his definitely does it. And on top of that, his brother had one where the passenger seat did it but not the drivers' side.

Judging by the randomness of who said it did or didn't happen to them on their Nismos when I asked on a Facebook group for the 370z? I have a feeling this might actually be a defect in the design of the seats, but it's widespread enough so people (like dealership service staff) who sit in enough of them just assume it's a normal "Recaro thing".

Not me but I have a European car being based in the UK. You may all say my steering wheel is on the wrong side but my recaros are fine.

Seems to be an OEM issue, sportster CS aftermarket bases do not have this issue

Not a good idea those Recaro seats finally. Maybe it was an abrupt configuration change on the Nismo...

My Nismo Recaro seats have been problem free. Now my Recaro SRD seat in my eclipse does need readjustment every few months. The seat back loses position after the repeated entry and exit. Sounds like a Recaro design issue.

My '17 Nismo Tech does the same. I thought I was hallucinating for a while. It requires slight adjustment every day.

Reviving this thread, I have a set of seats from a 2016 Nismo that I put in my 2010. Having the same issue with the drivers side where it gradually leans back from where I set it. Called the dealer and they had no clue what I could do to fix it. Has anyone here figured out a solution? About to take my seat out and remove the plastics and see what’s in there.

No issues with mine. I have a set in my car, even though I am not supposed too. LOL

No issue here. It’s been almost a year since the wife last adjusted her seating position.

LOL I dread to know what would happen if I boosted my Z then. So a little update, I reached out to Recaro. They are checking with their engineering team as it’s been figured out that the 370Z Nismo-specific seats are made in Japan. I’m going to be sending them pics of the seat and a sticker on the bottom they need to see and they will get back to me. I will update if I hear anything. I am also starting a case with Nissan consumer affairs.
