Yup, today waiting at a red light the Z was rear-ended. Not a huge deal, but a pretty good pop on my previously unmarked toy.

There is a dent and some scrapes and ripples where the Mercedes SUV's front right hit my back left.

Its not gonna buff out and I will be getting this fixed. I don't really have experience with this and will of course, be getting body shop estimates but thought my favorite car forum might have some helpful input.

Do they fix these bumpers/bumper covers or just replace them?

Would you consider getting the newer style bumper or stay with the '09-14?

Looking forward to your input...

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately I don't have much experience in this area either but I hope you get it cleaned up soon.

By the way, which carbon fiber license plate do you have? A link would be appreciated.

Thanks

bbermann, Sorry to hear that the car got hit, but first and foremost you are ok. Stick with the same year bumper. Don't go with one of the 15+ ones. Keep it original.

The license plate frame was an ebay buy a couple years ago. It has held up well!

I tried to find it but there are too many to be sure. If you are OK with ebay, I would suggest searching "real carbon fiber license plate frame". As I recall I paid about $20 but now 15 seems to be the going rate.

Appreciate the God-Speed input! Got to a shop today and estimate is for repair of existing which sounds logical. If they get into it and decide replacement is appropriate, I'll keep it original.

Thanks

Thanks. I've been trying to find a solid one, I'll give the $15 one a shot as reviews look good. Passing on the $45 one from zstore or $25 amazon ones lol.

OP, this feels like a deja-vu. I had the exact same incident 3-4 years ago. We have the exact same car and I was also at a red light, and got popped from behind, and my damage looked like yours. That damage will be fixed, bondo will be used to a degree to fill the curve that won't come out all the way. Doing this correctly, it'll be in the ballpark of around 800-1000 dollars. let me know if you have any questions.

get a brand new bumper and make the person who hit you pay for it

I am sorry to hear you got into a accident atleast you are ok. A good body shop can fix that and you will never be able to tell it was ever hit good luck.
