Anyone with experience, taking off 15+ Nismo flares?
Hey guys, new here. I ordered a 2017 Nismo, should be here in May. I hate the look of the fender flares and was wondering if anyone has taken them off and was it easy too do?

Gatz, shoot DPE G a PM. He has done this mod and a few others as well. Make sure to post some pictures of the new ride once you get it.

I took mine off my Nismo -- found this link pretty helpful.
Factory Service Manuals - NICO Club Go to page 32 of the document, pretty straightforward |
don't be too hasty to make changes before you get the car.
factory ordered mine, picked it up yesterday.... absolutely left me speechless in person. Nismo <3 |

First, they aren't really flares. The way they're attached protrudes inward actually causes more rubbing and reduces wheel clearance. second, they look stupid. Its cute trim for like a honda civic trim package for secretaries that wanna get a sporty looking ride. Its a joke for a real sports car. They're attached with clips on the inside and some adhesive. |
The sooner you do it, the easier it will be to take them off. I just used a small drill bit to drill out the rivets and there are parts that just have a regular screw. They all have double sided tape and this is the time consuming part, you have to be patient. I was able to use my fingers to peel and roll most of it off. For the stubborn parts I used Goo Gone on a microfiber because it's citrus based and won't harm the paint.
