The icing on the cake was when the wife and I were going for brunch on our anniversary. On the way to the place, two Lambos pull up beside me, and while I was drooling over their cars, I noticed those guys were looking at the Nismo! Pretty sure they could've easily bought 3 Nismos each, but hey, getting the attention of guys like that is a thumbs up in my books :D

I have to say I have learned to dislike all the attention my car gets. I bought it because I thought it was a great combination of looks and performance. I really didn't bargain for all the attention it gets. My next car will be much more of a sleeper. Here in Chicago, I have learned that it is best not to draw too much attention to oneself.

I drove by a school yesterday and all the kids were outside, staring and pointing as I drove by.
Sometimes I get the Mustang or Camaro guys that try and race, or the STis, but I don't race on the street anymore, I just let them waste their gas on stoplight launches. Besides, the Z is about corners and handling, not drag racing. If I wanted to drag race I would have bought something with a V8 and a solid rear axle. |

Haven't really had any aggressive encounters. I live between a city and a hick town and go to the hick town gas station pretty frequently. I get lots of love everywhere I go in the Nismo. It's crazy, never had a car get this much attention.
Dude pulled up next to me at hick town gas station and was like "God damn man, that mutherfucker is badass dude!!" "How much horsepower?" "Oh damn! And it's manual too?? ******* sick!" In the typical southern/hick accent haha. People love these cars! Enjoy! |
I've noticed that too. It's extremely annoying. Everyone seems the need to challenge you.

All too familiar daily annoyances here too!

I get both the good and bad stuff.
The good. I've had people pull up next to me and give me the  People taking pictures and video of me going down the highway. Getting gas, people come up and start talking about the Nismo or talk about the older Z that they once owned. Kids in school buses sticking their heads out the windows. :icon17: Just had a little kid on a bicycle just about run into me. He was staring so hard at the car. He got target fixation. :icon17: I had to jump a red light to keep him from hitting me. :icon14: The bad. Fly-bys. Cruising down the road, and have some ricer blow by me at double the speed limit. Or have them come up next to me and rev the crap out of their motor. Bouncing it off the rev limiter. :icon17: Keep waiting for one to blow. Tail gaters. Morons hanging on the rear bumper for miles. Or have the idiot run up then back off, then repeat it. At a stop light. Get ricky-ricer who wants to do the GP red light race. Sits there and has the gas pedal mashed to the floor. Waiting for the light to change. Giving you the want to race look. I give him the yes look back. Rev the engine a little. The light turns green, and I sit there laughing. |

Even though I started this thread with negative reactions, there are also plenty of positive ones too. I do get a lot of love for my Z from kids. I'd drive through a neighborhood and kids playing ball or just outside would stare as I drive by, and/or yelling "WOW!" or "Nice car!" A few days ago, one kid sprinted after me yelling "STOP! STOP!!! I LOVE YOUR CAR!" as I passed him and a few of his buddies :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I echo what Rusty said. EXACTLY! Every single day.

The second one (replacement to unit 1) - (recently) is the one I mentioned in my join post. Dealer Tech wrecked it when I had it in for a hot smell issue this summer. for that incident - They paid it and gave the additional funds for this Z!!! The Z is my "fill in the gap" car while I decide on either doing a "final" GTR attempt again, or possibly a change of pace to audi a6 or better or maybe R8. But to the OP point - today I had 3 positives with the car. It's like a bunch have said already - mixed admiration issues. Todays lookers were very surprised to hear it was a 2014 and still in "New Car Shape" on the interior/exterior. But the second admirer in particular pointed something out on mine I never really noticed. My wheels on both sides match direction. I soon found that this IS how they are on all Z's with the wheels. Then there was the 3rd admirer. A female driver in traffic rolls down window and honks and say's " I Like your car!!" and winks. To a middle aged dude - SWEET!!!! (hope wife don't get mad......):stirthepot: |
