I think the techs probably spent more time driving my car around than thinking about where the water is coming in from. Totally off topic: what do you guys do to reduce joy ride miles driven by techs / advisors / whoever? It seems like every time I take my Z to the dealer (first 2 free oil changes then twice for this leak) there is between half a mile and 2 miles added to the odometer, presumably hard-driven miles. |

Of course, that still doesn't stop them from parking my 6MT on a hill and letting out the clutch before applying the parking brake so the weight of the car is sitting on the transmission instead of the rear brakes :shakes head: |

http://www.cdmfabrication.com/bbpics.../370zplug3.jpg That plug had water underneath it on the passenger side, but was dry on the driverside. The car was also parked in a manner that would help encourage water to drain towards the front (which I would assume towards the belt). There is also this one in the center, I assume it couldn't hurt to seal this one up as well? http://www.cdmfabrication.com/bbpics.../370zplug1.jpg Anyone had any problems with the wiring leaking? Should I worry about these? http://www.cdmfabrication.com/bbpics.../370zplug2.jpg |
I have this issue too on my 15 nismo I went to dealer couple of times no result, I end up fix this by my self, you can pull out the B pillar cover and tape sealing every thing under the cover it probably fix your problems too. Hope it works.

I took mine to the dealer, yet again, for the issue. Both top panels above the doors have had new weatherstripping and RTV installed. The rubber cable grommets on the rear deck lid have been sealed with RTV. The seatbelts still get soaked.
Yesterday the tech and I witnessed the flow of water right into the B pillar windows. Gents, this is where our cars are leaking. I'll post an update as soon as my dealership figures out how to fix it. |
I resolved my issue by having Nissan by my car back under the Lemon Law and bought a 2017 Corvette. No more wet seat belts for me :)
|
I fixed my leak by removing the 2 black plastic caps in the hatch area and putting RTV silicon on them pushing them back into place and wiping off the excess and I have not had any water leaks, problem solved.

My 2016 was leaking on both sides, had every seal replaced as well as the carpet and driver side Recaro which was $14,000 in warranty work about a month ago. This past Tuesday a tornado put a tree on the car and totaled it. She's leaking again lmao

Update
Finally got my car back from the dealer. They had a window company come and pull the B pillar windows and re-seal them. As and added bonus, the lead tech also put automotive sealant throughout the inside of the car on all the seams.
Had our first hard rain since then, and no more wet seatbelts! As an additional added bonus, they are replacing my driver's seat and the rails. My dealership has gone above and beyond what I expected, so I am very pleased. |
Had the same issue, had the dealer fix it. A grommet was loose and letting the water in. Its usually right above the seatbelt and causes the water to leak into the mechanism.

It’s your window top seal that gets kinked in the corner, have the same issue on my 16 Nismo, you’ll see some fog behind your window when you was your car and can actually see it drip down into the car. Hope this helps

Dealer fixed it for me. The problem was in the rubber grommets. They can run a water test at the dealership.
