Removed Strips on 16 Nismo Mirrors

Yesterday cleaned up the car and removed the stripes that come on the mirrors. I always thought they looked more like and an afterthought! I think it now flows better with the tinted window!

I agree...i never really liked the red stripe on the mirror. Looks great now and blends in well with the window tint.

When you removed the red stripe, does that area underneath look any different than the rest of the mirror?

NO it does not. I was very lucky. The sticker did not leave behind any goop, but I did use some WD-40, followed by soap and water. Used a very light compound and then wax. You would never know they were there!!

The should have painted it if they where gonna do it. The sticker just makes it look like a cheap after thought.

My car wasn't even off the transfer truck and I was pulling it off the mirrors, front and rear bumpers. Always hated it...trying to hard in my op.

I also removed my stripes off the mirrors, along with the little fender flares.

For what it's worth, I've been using 3M for years on my vehicles, e.g., debadge, removing dealer decals, stickers, etc. It works like a charm and won't damage paint or clear coat, and requires much less muscle and time to finish a job.

A little zippo lighter fluid (naphtha) on a soft cloth will take care of any remaining "goo" and will not harm the paint. Good thing to keep around the house in case you need to remove some stickers or burn something down, too.
