NEED HELP! 15 16 Nismo owners

Long story short: I have a 14 Nismo with the chrome housing headlights, but I purchased a set of 15 Nismo black housing headlights from Fred Beans Nissan (Sponsored Vendor) last August. Last month, I discovered the black paint was blistering/bubbling so I contacted them to see what can be done since they're defective and less than a year old. They said that they closed their online store in Dec and that they will "try" to file a warranty claim with Nissan for these headlights.

They required that I purchase ANOTHER set from them (which I did) and shipped back the defective lights to them (on my dime) and they would file a claim, and if its approved, they would refund me the price I paid for the 2nd set. Bunch of bull**** I had to do but I did it anyways. I also had to provide my vehicle year, vin#, mileage etc which was no biggie.

I just received word from them that they cannot file a claim using my vin# because it'll come back the black housing headlights don't match my original chrome housing headlights, and it'll be denied by Nissan. I gave a f****ng fit! Other words, instead of taking care of their customers and just replaced the defective headlights they sold me, they're putting the responsibility on Nissan warranty and their policies/requirements. I'm so pissed, having paid almost $3k for 2 sets of headlights!

Fred Beans is asking me for a vin# to a 15+ Nismo to have the claim approved by Nissan. So I ask for a HUGE FAVOR. If you have a 15 or 16 Nismo, will you please help a brother out? I just need your Vin# so the claim will go through. That's all they need, just so the headlights I purchased match the vehicle they originally are on. Please please please! You can inbox me.

If you're kind enough to help out in this situation, I'd like to send you a genuine Nismo plate holder for free, just to show you my appreciation

Seriously... That sucks. Here's a thought: Don't they have a 15 or 16 Nismo on the lot they can grab the vin# off of? Just a thought

Chuck33079 04-26-2016 09:01 PM

Maybe find one listed for sale online with the vin on the ad?

Z-Girl 12 04-26-2016 09:05 PM

Just head to a nissan dealership and snag a vin. or hit a mall parking lot an snag one. Fred BEan should be ashamed of themselves. I would never buy crap from them again.

TriNismo 04-26-2016 09:13 PM

I would think using a vin# from a dealer's lot wouldn't work cause once Nissan pulls it up it'll show its brand new unsold, so can't claim warranty deflect on them IMO..

That's an idea, but I rather not do that to a Z owner without them knowing. Also i don't think there's a lot of 15 16 Nismo's being privately sold since they're fairly new..

Might be a last resort tho..

Ok dangit I'm going on eBay and seeing what's for sale there. They list vin#s so it's public information. Thanks all!

You should stop all of this crap man and filed a civil claim against them
Imo you should not be treating to get anything and they should back up their product
But looks like u r kind enough to buy another set from the same person that doesn't give you a good customer service the first time

First off, do you still have the invoice of the sales? If so that is all you need. You purchase parts from their dealership internet or part's counter. You do not need a vin# to claim a defect on a part. Call and talk to the GM. Be very professional and try to keep your cool. When talking to them make sure that you take notes. Get the names of the people you talk to just in case you have to give Nissan Corp. a call. Hope things work out and good luck.

That what I'm talking about Godspeed.
As customer we don't have to be jumping around ropes to get our stuff resolved since they as vendor got our hard earned money already

I did contact Nissan Corp.. they opened a case and looked into it. I provided all info.. invoices, dates etc..their resolution was for me to thru the original dealer I purchased the lights from. So no help from them. The person I'm dealing with at Fred Beans is the General Sales manager. Yeah I'm jumping thru damn hoops, let's see what happens now that I provided him with another Vin. Civil claim is an option if this doesn't work..

You may be down, but your not out.. Remember the lights you ordered from the dealership as nothing to do with your car's vin#. One has nothing to do with the other. Don't give up and don't let it go. As stated, Keep your cool when talking with him. Make sure he understands that you want to exchange for a new set, not a refund. Once again good luck. Hope this is Helpful.

They're redefining the word "stealership". I wouldn't play the phone game with them, go in and talk to the GM. Wtf does the VIN # has to do with a defective part lol...such ********

If they dealer does not resolve it call corp. again. I have found hitting their social media pages go a long way to receive action as well. Hit there twitter and facebook daily with your story. Be clear precise and non-emotional. State facts, dates, price and defect, and the service and results given. They start seeing it daily on one of their largest marketing platforms and they start reacting pretty quick. I had to do it to get a rear tire replaced that had a slow leak from the day I purchased the car.

Just a heads up for everyone, check your own headlights. Mine have the chrome finish bubbling also. Will file a warranty claim at some point.

TriNismo 09-08-2016 03:15 PM

Update: I finally got my refund. Took forever but it's done. So now Nissan know about this issue, any further warranty claims should go thru

Those of you who are having blistering issues... What kind of climate do you live in?

I wonder if cars in hotter climates are more susceptible to failure. Just a thought.

I'm in Florida. Car is always garaged tho.. So I'm thinking the problem is maybe the heat from the light bouncing off the lenses and hitting the black paint in a concentrated spot. That's my guess

That's kind of what I'm thinking too. Did Philly have some pretty hot days this summer?

I see someone else with blistering problems is from Arizona...
