Future Nismo buyer with questions
I currently have my second MINI Cooper S; the latest being a JCW. I'm looking to getting the 16 Nismo Tech. Frankly, my first concern was whether I'd be able to get my Trek Domane into the back or not. Seriously. So, I went to the local dealership and looked at their Nismo to check. That being satisfied, I sat in the car for a few minutes to get a feel for the build quality and had a few questions. Unfortunately, the sales dude had no clue about this car (this is North Carolina, after all), so I figured I'd go to the brain trust for the correct answers.

1. I doubt Nissan would change any significant interior elements before the new Z model comes out (or they discontinue the Z car).
2. Seat heaters on left and right. Fog light switch in the middle. 3. Fobgina. If you fob battery dies, insert fob into the fobgina and you can still start the car. There is a key in the fob that allows you to lock/unlock the car doors if the batter dies as well. 4. Sales dudes are fuckin stupid. If the car is new you can get a warranty through Nissan for a price. 5. Have fun - don't bother with the warranty if you're going boost. Do your research. Find an experienced shop. 6. Royal pain in the a$$. You basically have to take out the entire dash to remove them intact. There's one forum member who did it and has them displayed on a trophy case I believe.

The 2016 nismo is the same z34 chassy its not a different car just has some little extras on top of the sport package. You can bolt a stillen super charger kit on but I would get a shop and do your research before boosting.

5. Custom tune is absolutely necessary. The Stillen canned tune is garbage. Find an experienced tuner. 6. You can destroy the gauges to get them out without removing the entire dash. And you have to replace all three, as mentioned.

With new engine lineup for Q50 already announced for 2016, you sure you wanna buy a new 370z at this time? The NA 3.7 seems to be getting phased out.
v6TT @ either 300 or 400hp trim to choose from for Q50, 2.0T as base.

The Q50/Q60 is no Z, and it a Z35 hasn't even been confirmed yet.

^ well aware Q is not a Z, using it as implication for Z35's engine and just throwing it out there for him to consider, since he's talking about wanting to supercharged it.

As others have said, the button (outside) placeholders are for heated seats. But keep in mind, the NISMO models do not come with seat warmers.
Also, are you set on a supercharger, or would you be open to a turbo set-up? The Stillen supercharger is great, but the gains are limited compared to a turbo (or twin-turbo) set-up.

I'll surely miss the heated seats but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. As for the turbo vs. supercharger, I miss the whine of the supercharger from my first MINI. My current JCW has turbo but doesn't seem to lack in power compared to the first, so I'll have to look into that.

I didn't realize the US models now had a OE fog light.
That's cool, But it's also where I put my sub control, so no good for me. LOL
