This Part Costs $400

This plastic cover which is a part of the plastic shroud that goes under the engine, is Nismo specific and costs $400. Yeah... (Foot shown for reference )

I just had to buy that piece. I paid $200. I asked for my good boy discount. I do buy my parts from them. Oil filters, Air filters, and whatever else I need for my cars.

Your piece looks OK. Maybe a wobbled out hole from what I see.

I feel like you could make that with some metal and a drill if it's as flat as it looks.

Either way $400 is ridiculous, even $200 is a bit crazy. I am willing to bet it is at most $30-40 to manufacture.

I agree, my buddy can make that for cost of materials. I wonder what the dimensions are, would be nice to have pics from all angles to see what's involved.

Over $80 bux you're getting raped (if it was a space grade part or something like that I'd understand).

A lot of what you are paying for is keeping a part that doesn't sell a lot of units on a shelf somewhere. If it were a frequently replaced part for a more common car, it would be cheaper. But, yeah, $400 is outrageous for a simple, non-structural part. I'd be very tempted to DIY a replacement.

Oh yeah, I made it work and it's back on the car.

I lost all the little plastic push pins that were holding it in, so I ordered a bag of 25 from Amazon for $5.00. Nissan wanted $6.00 EACH.

You need to find a different stealership. I can get the ones from the trunk with the D ring for approx 3-3.50 each from the dealer and that's in CDN$ too! For the standard push in ones I also went the eBay/amazon route but I know they aren't $6/each up here.

Perfect example for difference between dealers. Just last week I picked up some '15 Nismo aero parts. One dealer wanted 608 for the rear meanwhile 30mins away the other one wanted 378????wtf???? Needless to say I have boycotted the other stealership.

Ok, but what the hell does this part do?
Does it hold something important in place?
Doesn't look like much of anything to me.

It's just a cover that goes over a section of the undertray that's not flat. I guess so that the entire undertray is flat. It's pretty much useless unless they put it there for aero reasons, but I can't see how that part can make any kind of difference.

Ha Ha! Just noticed they look like CF. No, they're just my Reef sandals that I bought 20 years ago when my family lived in Puerto Rico. I wear them ALL the time and they still haven't worn out. Best footwear I've ever bought.

My local body shop will sell me a handful of rivets for a few dollars. Same or better quality than what came from the factory. Closer to $.50 each but I've been told to keep my money a few times. YMMV

I lost that piece long ago. Heard it going under the car and out the back. Didn't know what it was. Thought that I ran over something. When I did my nexted oil change. Then I knew was it was. Now I have a Z1 undertray.

That part costs about $0.80 to make. Hell of a mark up.
