Not sure if this is this place to post but....

I've looked and searched but can't seem to find a thread. I believe only the '14 model came with the bottom stripes? Any who, I liked the idea at first.... Not so much now. So after looking at them closely it appears that they're only vinyl? I'm not so sure on it but trying to see what options are before sending off to the painter and matching it to the rest of the car. (Car is Magnetic Black with Graphite Grey? front, sides, and rear)

I thought it was just a stick on... Did you try preling it off slowly and carefully? Ive done this on a 350 before... The sooner the better too, as it starts to weather it.. Ive seen it left on and eventually baked into the paint by the sun. After years of course

Yeah that's kinda what I had in mind myself was to peel it as I bought it in July pretty much brand new (738 miles) but I wanted to make sure it was vinyl before attempting to do so. I don't care so much for the front lip (nismo lip) or rear bumper but more so the side skirt.

Do you mean the Nismo model?

Because my 2014 Sport touring has no stripes.

Hmm, I wasn't sure if it was only the Nismo model or any other but yes mine is a Nismo model. I probably should've added that in the OP:(

I was under the impression that the red stripe was tape and the grey was actually painted.

cooltoy 08-12-2015 06:59 PM

By the way, the place for this would be the exterior and interior section, or the NISMO section.

blckzhep 08-12-2015 07:07 PM

Interesting... Just curious to know/see what others have done with it

Thus the Nismo section, more fish there.

I have a PW 14 Nismo, and after inspecting the area/lines between the white and gunmetal bottom, this is what I discovered. On the side skirts, the gunmetal area overlaps the white, while the front and rear bumper it's the opposite.. the white overlaps the gunmetal. Which means it's not a vinyl decal because that would make the white bumpers vinyl. So I'm pretty sure it's paint, but I guess if you really want to find out, try pulling a section off in an inconspicuous area like the fender wells.

The red stripes are definitely vinyl decals.

I did something different, I added more red to the bottomhttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08...12d8010082.jpg

All the red stripes are stickers and they peel right off.

ghotnit - I more so mean the grey areas at the bottom of the car, but I think I'll just try and match the wheel color I'm planning to get to the grey and it'll maybe make it pop more.

ghotnit 08-14-2015 10:05 PM

Yeah the Aero parts are grey and they match the mirrors and the wheels. I also painted the Head light bezel to match and the carbon fiber door handles are grey.

Did you add paint or more vinyl?

I actually like the red accent, wished they started them in 2012
