15 Nismo rattle trap?
So I've had it about 3 months 4500ish miles. Quite a few pulls for e tunes with John. But am I the only one getting a rattle from what seems everywhere?
Places- The worst The shifter 5k or above Right at my gauge cluster, steering wheel area all rpms in motion (sounds like a pissed off bee) << driving me insane!! Not so bad The back squeaks rattles etc.. normal for the most part my driver seat when takin hard turns creaks (hard to explain) < no I'm not large if thats what your thinking A weird vibrating / gurgling noise at idle when giving a little gas up to about 3k rpm intermittent Just a few I've noticed with mine I know shifter rattle = common but the damn steering wheel area buzz makes me want to grab a hatchet < NOT JOKING |

at 2500 miles, my automatic is extraordinarily rattle-free - even bouncing down some really choppy roads - for such a stiff suspension I'm always thinking damn this thing is tight -

My AT is practically rattle free, except for a rattle around the seat belt area on the left of the driver's seat. Even then if I turn on music at the lowest volume it disappears

Almost entirely rattle free. The only thing I really noticed odd was when I'm washing the car, I get a squeak from the left rear bumper cover. That's not during drives or anything, though.

No issues with mine, and it's been lowered on coilovers since 600 miles. at 4600 now, no rattles i can hear. That also includes beating it on the dragon at zdayz.

not sure it's me having good luck or you having bad luck - I had to go confirm what I said
in this vid the audio is recorded with a hi fi sony recorder in the passenger seat - I'm having to hold the go-pro because the flex mount rattles and creaks more than the car and it is right above the recorder this is over two really rough roads and a RR crossing - at 1 minute you can hear the blinker click for sound level reference - recording sensitivity is high so tire and suspension noise is greatly exaggerated - LOOK - no shifting - I love that automatic action & Look - no rattles - or squeaks - |

2000 miles buzz from shifter and noise from seat, until I figured it out I swore the buzz from shifter was from the engine which had me switching out oil 3 times ahhhh it sucks getting old! I cant hear from years of Led Zepplin at ear bleed levels . I am amazed at how tight the chassis is. Mac

shifter rattle...take your knob off, the spacer underneath might be loose for some reason. you can remove it and it wont hurt a thing weird vibrating/gurgling noise at idle when giving gas upto around 3k, is the trademark VQ37 hiss/buzz from the exhaust |

sign I'm not getting into manual vs auto debate
Manual = me auto = you >we'll leave it at that glad yours is doing well though. Ya chops I know it's suppose to be simple fixes for a few just need the time and knowledge and less of a temper to attempt the adjustments/fix. Though my biggest complaint there is no fix for the damn steering wheel buz. |

I get a "bzzzzt" when I hit certain bumps, which comes from about 10:00 on the steering wheel or somewhere near there. I don't hear any rattles other than normal NISMO hatch rattle otherwise.
For the steering wheel area thing, it's either the trip computer buttons or the little "flap" of dash that hangs over it. I haven't quite figured it out yet, because I can't really make it happen when I want, it's just certain bumps at certain speeds on the highway. Weird though, those parts aren't special to the NISMO so I have no idea why I'm getting that noise from there, if it's just a random Z thing or what. Try wrapping a rubber band around the 2 buttons for the trip/car computer above the temp gauge maybe? |

Thank you Davey that's a much better description of what I'm getting almost exactly what I'm referring to.
Only difference is mine is very consistent. I've put my ear on the dash while driving. Very hard to pin point the origin. You may be right though. It seems like it's coming from deeper inside like the cluster of maybe the a.c. vent dash area to me. |

I would have sworn it was coming from the vent in the door, or the A-pillar, but I put my hand over the buttons and the little piece of dash that hangs over the leftmost gauge and I didn't hear it over a bunch of bumps where I thought I should have.
I hope you find it, those kind of rattles can drive you crazy! |

I just made the distinction in mileage and transmission type to clarify how our cars are different - not knowing whether it has anything to do with the problem or not - I only meant to make the point that the 15 nismo (in my case) is not a rattle-trap (so far) - you said the shifter was the worst - mine is silent - it is not accurate to characterize my response as an attempt to debate manual vs auto
