What mods have you done or plan for your Nismo 15+

I've been running into a few barriers with finding mods listed for the 15+ so wondering what others have done or found.

So far I've been able to "easily" :shakes head: get my takeda CAI on and berks HFC. Working with a local tuner towards an up rev tune. Plan on getting the Garage line X pipe and midpipe since they seem to come as a pair and waiting to see how the m370 works for others before I tackle that. I already test bunnied the takeda not doing it for the m370.

Suspension - looking into wheel spacers to get a little more stability and maybe the swifts

Exterior - Trying to decide what color to make the handles on the MB Maybe white I just dont like the silver. I'm going to find a way to get the 14 down Nismo spoiler on. Change the LED on the Z emblem to White. And get my DRLS to stay on.

Interior - Have Llumar CTX all the way around, Other than that maybe a shift knob the car is pretty good as is.. Aftermarket head unit and speakers down the road maybe. For now AUX is fine since I rarely listen to anything but the exhaust and engine :driving:

I'll throw up some pics of the install when I get my bumper back off to relocate my outside air temp sensor.

So what have you done!?

Uxi 05-26-2015 06:03 PM

So far, just the GTR start button . :p

I an drooling over the Amuse STTI Titan Gold Ring exhaust... and always a fan of K&N intakes, though don't think the Typhoons are CARB... might not be an issue if/when I get fed up enough to leave Ca. The Stillen is popular but not sure I want to have to take my bumper cover off to get at them.

Don't perceive any issues with suspension to want to tinker with it. Maybe it will as I get more used to the car.

Originally was thinking I wanted a 2013 white wing and/or Evo-R but now thinking I'll leave it well enough alone. Perfectly happen with the NISMO rims, as well but those are so easy to change I might yield to the desire to get some Volk ZE-40's... could enable some interesting tire experimentation, as well since I am curious if there would be any performance improvement with 18's (less rotational mass), as well as tire selection at the cost of some handling perhaps. The rear fog also tickles the ricer in me and I may pop one in there. Probably JDM though the EVO-R looks pretty good, too.

After aftermarket sound in my last couple cars, I was most interested in the integration of the Tech model, which is why I wanted the NISMO Tech... which all works perfect for what it is (last generation). I might ponder a Mirror Link / Car Play capable head unit at some point but that appears a bit dicier with OEM Bose setups so maybe not. We'll see.

NefariousZ34 05-26-2015 06:14 PM

Really I would think the K&Ns would be emission compliant being that it's just short ram. Though I stayed away from short ram due the heat soaked engine bays we love. :ugh2: Could always do Silicon Post MAF Hoses and Drop ins like a lot on here are doing that shouldn't effect anything except a little increase in air flow plus dress up the engine at the same time while retaining stock air boxes. Just a thought for ya.

Uxi 05-26-2015 06:15 PM

Unfortunately passing the sniff test isn't as important to the smog nazis as the pound of flesh they demand from the aftermarket guys in $$$ for testing and justifying their own existence.

NefariousZ34 05-26-2015 06:19 PM

Ya I hear that one of the reasons I don't think I could live in Cali even though I was born there. But the Silicone hose and drop ins are just eliminating the accordion type hoses and adding higher flow air filters surely that wouldn't throw up a red flag there?

Uxi 05-26-2015 06:25 PM

Technically anything in front of the cat converter(s) can flag you (so cat back exhaust are fine, for example) but hoses, drop in filters, etc and dress up stuff probably cool.

15NISMO 05-26-2015 06:36 PM

Here is what I have done so far...

K&N Typhoon CAI
Spacers - 20mm Front and 25mm Rear
Door Handles and all emblems dipped - matte black
Window tint
3M Clear Scotchguard all front and up 18" of hood and quarters
Weathertech mats

Things I want to do...

GTR button
Hood struts
Interior LEDs
NISMO shift knob
Tune

I may look at an exhaust but really not sure yet.

Have pics of your handles? They really should be metal if they're going to be that silver color. CF covers doesn't seem right though...

Interior LEDs sounds cool, too at least to replace the map lights along with the clear GTR covers.

Ordered some Swifts. Suspension will be the only mod as i plan to keep it stock.
I did do the day time running lights and headlights mod though.

15NISMO 05-26-2015 07:18 PM

What are the DRL and Headlight mods?

NefariousZ34 05-26-2015 07:23 PM

Daytime running lights. Keeps the leds running all the time. Not sure what headlight mod he's referring to maybe halos which I am interested in.

Zipper how difficult was the drl mod? I saw a base or touring model description but I'm definetly not good with wires.

My pics of Berks and Takeda (I painted of course they are supposed to be polished) Oh I almost forgot I have weather techs aswell I just don't really use them much the Nismo mats are soo nice

Sry, that sounded confusing. lol I meant the DRL with headlights on mod..like you said keeps the DRL's running all the time. Theres a DIY somewhere in here. I followed it exactly and i have to say it was pretty simple.Took me about 30min with all the tools and parts needed on hand. Looks real sharp at night with the DRL's on. Should of been like that from factory.

NefariousZ34 05-26-2015 08:06 PM

Agreed

Come on now...somebody needs to boost one of these bad boys!!! I know about the warranty thing, I still have two years left on my warranty and I boosted it 18 months ago! LOL

Hey go ahead and place the order and have the kit shipped to me FI TT KIT like you and mine will be boosted only one month into the warranty ;-)

I'll send you pictures, post updates, show when it's completed with videos and pictures and of course even let you come drive the hell out of it when you come see it! :driving:

I think most of us are probably running a little low on extra funds after buying the cars I know I am. I'm trying to piece my mods little by little even though most need to be done all at once.

Like the M370, mid and X pipe, spray, headers with uprev tune should be done at the same time.

Actual order will probably be uprev > X and Mid > retune > m370 > retune >headers > retune >spray >retune

Then 5 years from now after all has been completed probably have enough market saturation of turbo kits to be able to boost her.

TBH If boost was the number one priority we would probably be in a different forum...

Hotrodz 05-27-2015 07:52 PM

:stirthepot: Just missing with you guys! I did the same thing, went N/A for the first year and did the bolt ons. I had some expendable coin so I took the big leap. No need to put yourself in financial trouble when you have an awesome car already!!!

Admoreno35 06-01-2015 12:13 AM

I really want to buy the injen CAI. But as I'm shopping , all the z products say 09-11 or 09-13 . Is there a difference on the 15 nismo than any previous nismo or base models ?

NefariousZ34 06-01-2015 12:18 AM

Yes but just in the front bumper you'll be fine with an injen I believe my takeda barely fit but I made it work. gen 3s will probably be a tight fit as well. The only thing that changed is the front bumper and how close the bumper top support is to the actual metal beam across the bumper. Injen should be underneath that part but I can't say 100% more like 90%.

Zero dark 06-01-2015 06:56 AM

My mods are in my sig plus carbon fiber nismo shift knob. Looking to get swifts next

Stillen Gen 3's fit no problem I wouldn't call it a tight fit at all just normal.

Thanks for all the input . Im going to get the injen and see were it goes from there

hey I just got my 15' nismo and looking to get it tuned but I don't know where to go here in las vegas.

NefariousZ34 06-01-2015 10:09 PM

I would wait until after break in period before a tune do you have more that 1200 miles on it?

Is there really a worthwhile benefit to a tune on a stock car? I thought this was best to do after at least a couple engine/exhaust mods to help bring it all together.

NefariousZ34 06-02-2015 10:12 PM

A tune will always help a car whether it's stock or not just like I test drove an evo today and it felt like driving a an Altima S 4 cyl... However according to one of the guys I know who is a tuner all he would need to do is make some adjustments to the tune and the car would really pick up. If the evo's really drive like that and any Nismo Stock vs Stock gets beat. The Nismo owner might want to get his car checked out lol

After the salesman got out and asked I was like ya no... You were in the car and he said the same thing it was very basic sluggish felt like any 4 cylinder non turboed. I even checked just to make sure there was one there lol

Anyway just an example. The base tune is just all "safe" a tune from my understanding and I have done A LOT of research into this pushes and removes some of the safeties put in place. Allowing better throttle responses, better ignition timing and even better fuel economy. Otherwise why would someone tune something like a frontier. Typically they tune for better MPG and overall performance.

If I'm wrong please someone correct me. I don't know everything just do a lot of reading and research before making a decision on how or what tune I will put on my vehicle etc. Along with that research came the other information about regular family vehicles being tuned that I never would have thought of.

So short answer should be yes a tune of a stock Z should increase cars performance without mods maybe not drastically but you get the idea

Looking good man. I might be moving to Pace who do you have to your work or have you been doing it all yourself?

DPE G 06-04-2015 08:13 AM

I've done everything myself. If you come out this way join our FB page Florida Panhandle Z&G Community. Even from Mobile we are only 45 min away.

NefariousZ34 06-04-2015 04:26 PM

appreciate it I sent out a request.

NefariousZ34 06-11-2015 02:36 AM

Has anyone done a spoiler conversion yet on the 15+ I've been searching everywhere can't seem to find anyone who has removed the 15 spoiler. I need a DIY video and what spoilers are compatible. I really don't want to be the test bunny!

Ronin3801 06-11-2015 06:07 AM

Sub'ed ....I'm in for the same info. Would love to see what else is compatible, sadly my searches have come up empty

Uxi 06-11-2015 12:10 PM

Have read that the spoiler is shorter due to the revised bumper so that the other spoilers would have a gap but only one way to find out. Pioneers catch the arrows. I was originally wanting a '13 spoiler but for now content with stock.

DPE G 06-14-2015 08:45 AM

Rear bumper pokes out about 1/8 inch past the hatch lid to compensate for the thickness of the spoiler. If you put the older style spoiler on it there will be a slight alignment mismatch. OCD people (such as myself) may not be able to live with this. That being said, I'm waiting for someone to be the test mule to see if all the holes are covered.

Uxi 06-16-2015 04:42 PM

oh oh , how did I miss that? Looks like the K&N Typhoon finally got a CARB EO...

Do you rub with the spacers? Do you think it will rub When you drop it?
